I looked at wayback machine and in the begin you had a section called ''newest members'' can this come back? With an username filter.

Actually, now that I think about it, I do remember seeing it.
But if the Scratch Team removed it, it must be for a good reason.
And I don't see what the point of it is, because even if a person is the 3rd newest, they probably don't have any (good) projects.
Maybe like the 50th newest, 100th newest, and 500th newest would help, along with their newest project, to get more views to them?

Oh yeah!

Like said above, new members probably don't have anything worth viewing yet (given the rate at which people register on this site, people will be in the top 5 newest members for an hour or so).
Also, you will probably also find a bunch of spam accounts and maybe even some with inappropriate usernames/avatars.

There also used to be a list very similar to that that showed people who were online recently.
That was also listed in that time! I wonder why they deleted it?

They could make an report system? Like the word ''pie'' is inappropriate they could look like ''---master''

However, people often cheat the filter by adding hyphens between letters and stuff like that.

They could still do "P mas I ter E" and get through the filter.
Anyway, I like this feature, but before I through in my support, I would like to know why the ST got rid of this feature in the first place.

I bet young kids would not see that. I mean... The time of users with extremly bad words in thier username is over.

But a new time of users with bad names could come and remember that not everyone on Scratch is a kid.

Isn't the whole purpose of not having an inappropriate name to keep the site kid friendly, those who aren't kids are unlikely to get offended.

I know. I'm just bringing up the counter-arguments and questions to make sure everything has been considered.
So, I have a question, will we keep the same design and layout as before or will we have a new design?

I think a new one.
Could you give a mockup?

Here's a really lazy one: I'll try to make one in 2.0 style tommorow.

When I said mockup, I didn't mean that you should make a mockup of just that feature, but of that feature and the rest of the website so that I could get an idea of its placement and layout. Other than that, nice mockup!

Here's what it looked like:
Here's what it would probably look like with Scratch the way it is now. (Because no one says "members" anymore. )
