Why the long face?
And @ sonic
I don't have any faves..... maybe that's why I can't be curator. It probably is, I made a really awesome speech and still didn't get in! And when I say awesome, I mean I actually put effort into it, not that it was better than everyone else's.
It's not that. You can always add them after being accepted.
And you can show them projects you like in the speech.
Yes, you can, but they determine what you might pick when they review your speech, and look at your current favorites. If you don't have what they are looking for, you don't get accepted in the first place. But projects you put in your speech, if they are truly something you'd curate, would be in your favorites already anyway. Most likely.

Maybe there could be 3 curators and each would pick one of the three projects that get on the front page...

I don't think new curators or the curated would like that, cause they either only get to choose 1/3 the projects, or has to choose 3x faster.
Since Scratch 2.0 should already have scrolling bars, such as for newest projects, or top viewed, etc., I think the curator spot should also have scrolling bars so it can hold more than three projects, and then it will put the 9 (or 6 or whatever) curated projects in a random order every time the page is refreshed.
Something like this?

Any of the projects you show them, if you like it, would most likely already be in your faves to begin with. Highlighting them isn't a bad idea, but they would probably see it anyway. Unless you don't favorite things very often, in which case they probably wouldn't choose you anyway.
