When i grow up, i wanna make cartoons for kids [6-11]. I'm horrible at animating, but i'll learn some day. I've already got ideas that i might use.
If anyone wants to do the same thing i wanna do, share your ideas and reply to others, stating your opinions.
My first and favorite idea:
Ryan The Cat
In a town called [i don't have a idea yet, ideas for the name are gladly accepted], a cat named Ryan lives in apartment, and goes to work at Fryville, a burger joint. Ryan is joyful and happy working here with Mr. Spike [a lizard, and manager] and a meerkat named Marcus, but have to face customer compitition at Chick Country, a chicken and burger joint down the road. Also, Ryan loves pizza, so he tries to get a job at at Kitteh Pizzeria.
I've actually started doing this as a comic. On my first one called "Delivery"
And it was made because of how much i love drawing cartoon cats.
So, discuss and share away

So uh
Two rival fast food restaurants?
Anthropomorphic animals of some sort?
You should name the town Thongville if that's where you're going with it I would say.

Me, InkMystro, and Spritemite are making an animation called The Rivals. It's actually not an animation, it's a comic, and it'll be released on Scratch.
We are, however, working on a short movie we'll be releasing to Youtube.
We use a Blender Freestyle mod from Graphicall.

I've had some ideas for animating, but all the programs are made for people who want to make super complex things, I just want to be able to make lots of sprites and layer them, then move them around in frames.
I'm okish at actually drawing, but I don't see how moving a bunch of drawings has to be so hard.

Most people don't actually realize the complexity of cartoons. Cartoons are made in a 3D environment and are NPR rendered. (That means non-photo-realistic)

It looks easy at first, but it gets complicated quickly.

I know that, it's all to do with layering, it's like drawing something, you have lots of layers and each one can be moved around separately, then you render it.
What I don't understand is why all the most used tools are the hardest ones to get to, I have to go through 4 menus just to use a move tool, I'm pretty sure the professionals move things too.

This was a year ago, I can't really remember the name of it, but I doubt that in a year devs have gone "What if we moved the move tool somewhere easier to get to?" "Genius!"
