Write your essay on that
'Habits can, in fact, be disastrous at times, and this idiotic essay prompt is proof of it. If only the American school system would get out of these ridiculous hundred-year-old habits and come up with something innovative. Our schools have become stale and dismal places where young minds are molded into dull squarish boxes, amidst a nightmarish tangle of dull pencils, grimy and dog-eared textbooks and droning lectures.'

But I am grateful for free education and reformed schooling, even if its sucky its still better then africa.Only slightly . It may be education, but it's still trying to crush any excess intelligence and all personality out of us until were boring ol' squares.
I finally understand! The Hunger Games was an allegory for the american school system!

All I know is I don't want to find out. Although I could bring in a compilation of evidence against it based on these forum posts...

As far as I'm concerned, the moment you do something exactly the same you you did it a zillion times before, you need to get psychological help before you realize how boring your life is. So I agree with zubblewu.

Yes.
I was born with horrible lung problems and my first week was spent wheezing in the ICU. When I was young (5 or 6), I developed a horrible habit: holding my breath near trash cans. It's the hardest habit I've ever tried to break, and it makes my lung problems worse.
Another one: I love salt. My salt needs more salt. It's become a habit to get more salt. My family has a long history of heart problems. Sometimes I feel heart pains and I'm currently working with a doctor.

Liking salt isn't really a habit...
Anyway you should write about how this is a terrible prompt because only BAD habits would maybe lead to disaster and in that case, it's kind of a given (since, you know, they're called bad for a reason). If they said they meant all habits then obviously the answer would be "it depends" because it's not like showering regularly or eating healthily will lead to disaster.

I bathe regularly. I'm scared one day I'll prune up so badly I'll dissolve into a pile of wrinkly flesh!

Constantly asking for more is, even though I know I have enough.
