Mini - A Mod made for Mini Laptops

Hi all,
I was thinking I have a mini laptop that has scratch on it but scratch is always slow and crashs my laptop so I want to make a mod that will have less blocks but the same capabilities (if not more) as scratch.

So I need a small team (2 - 3 people (not including me)) of squeak/smalltalk programmers to help with this epic mod.

when gf clicked
repeat until <(programmers) = [4]>
  say [ Please Join!]
end
think [Mini is going to be awesome!] for (infinte) secs

Re: Mini - A Mod made for Mini Laptops

Lol the netbooks that school gives us has Intel Celeron Dual Core processor with 4GB of RAM, 300GB HDD, 1.27GB Intel HD Graphics (Screen resolution: 1366x768 60 hertz). They are good computers, but things are hard to read sometimes because it is small and they have restrictions that block programs.
They have Scratch pre-installed and I figured out how to modify it on those computers. I think with technology becoming smaller all the time, you won't need a Scratch mod to run it properly on small computers.

Re: Mini - A Mod made for Mini Laptops

Removing blocks isn't going to help (at least not enough that would make it usable).

Yeah, I'm mostly inactive.  I check in once in a while though.  If you want to contact me, I have a contact form at my website, http://escratch.org

This. I believe the main reason Scratch hogs so much CPU is due to it running in Squeak.

Whatever you do it wont be faster. Most likely slower.
