'Error code 1' in Chirp Compiler

I have been trying to convert my Scratch projects into .exe files. It always works extremely well, except when I try to import my own icon. If I choose an icon and press ok, it gives me a message that says 'Compiler error code: 1'. Can anyone help?

Re: 'Error code 1' in Chirp Compiler

Since this is a bug in a Scratch mod (not Scratch), lets try this topic in Advanced Topics  smile

Could the person that created Chirp help?

Check and make sure you have a Scratch2EXE (or something similar) folder in My Documents.

Re: 'Error code 1' in Chirp Compiler

This happens to me alot!
I have no Idea why this happens, but I think the compiler (the thing that turns the scratch file into the executable, or *.exe) might have been made for something other than scratch, and was adapted for use in scratch (correct me if im wrong, I don't know for sure!), so it could be that it it was the fault of the origonal creator, or when it was adapted, something might have gone wrong. To get around this, find the folder the compiler is in, and look for a file that ends in .ico  which you can edit to use as your icon. when the compiler runs, dont say you want to go with your own icon. since you edited the file it uses as the icon, it will now use it as the default icon.

The compiler was made for Scratch. What do you use to edit .ico files?

Re: 'Error code 1' in Chirp Compiler

Wouldn't it be simpler to download BYOB and use the 'Compile' button?  Then once it's compiled, open up the .EXE in a program such as 7Zip and edit the file with an .ico extension there. Please note that Paint can't edit .ico files. I belive GIMP can, though.

I'm back.
Maybe.

Isn't 7zip that advertisement that says 'download' on download pages (and probably gives you a virus if you click it)?

Did you run the compiler as "Administrator"?

No, it's an open-source file archiver.
