********************************************************************
Welcome to the official page for Scratch Tutors! Scratch Tutors is for Kindergarten through (hopefully) twelfth grade! Scratch Tutors needs people who can teach younger kids help with Math, Language Arts, and Reading!
~For Tutors~
You will be placed with a child that you can teach easily, you would not teach someone in the same grade as you. You would have to teach that child at least one lesson a month, but make sure they understand it. Scratch Tutors is not a school, they help children with learning. If you misuse your position you will be immediately kicked off.
*********************************
~For Students~
Please respect your tutors, and do your best to pay attention. Remember this is for help with your school, so please study hard.
*********************************
Rules for Tutors:
-Respect your Students.
-Go at a easy pace, unless your Student can learn faster.
-Be kind to other tutors as well, and if they need help, feel free to help them.
-Post 1 project a month to help your Student with his/her studies. i.e. adjectives, division, etc.
-Add your teaching projects to the ScratchTutors gallery.
***
Rules for Students:
-Be respectful to your Tutors.
-Remember to pay attention, and look at your tutor's projects.
-Let your Tutor know if they are going too fast, or too slow.

While we like to encourage teaching and learning (this is an educational site, after all!), the Collaboration section of the forums is for people collaborating to make Scratch Projects - I think a better spot would be Things I'm Making and Creating, since it includes building skills. I'll move it there.
I'm a bit concerned about why you need to ask for the gender of the people that want to participate...do you really need that information. If so, why?

They might be trying to give preference to pairs of students with teachers of the same gender, though that wouldn't really matter and that's just speculation.

I was going to tell the student, so they could know more about their tutor.

Perhaps an "interests" field would be better, such as "basketball and scratch" or something...

If you need tutoring, I can do Algebra (8-10th grade math) or history.
