it seems the only thread about it is here it was closed in 2010 and only got 7 replies, so i don't think anyone uses it

PerspectiveDesigns created a large series of Scratch projects (miniature programming languages) called Itchy++, so I wouldn't use that name.

That would be a better name but we aren't allowed to use scratch++ and lots things don't allow +s in names so we'd have to use splusplus

The only way to implement this is to use flash and then embed it in a c++ program

What gui toolkit/framework are we going to use? I think qt would be a good choice (It works on all platforms).

I'd go with SDL (because it is cross platform, I have never used it before.)
