Dinoclor wrote:

Just wondering, how far have you gotten with the actual game?

I've attempted to make a pokemon game before, and I got stuck on the part where I had to add the actual pokemon. It would just take too much code to program for all of the different pokemon I was going to add in Scratch.

So, if it isn't a secret, may I please know how you have/are going to add the pokemon? I've never figured out how to do it.

Oh how this question is asked so many t- wait this isn't about how much space we're taking up?

Uh, yeah, we'll leave popopobob to that. XD

Like Zang says, he's probably the most Scratch advanced person in the collab. He's probably busy with stuff (yeah, I'm being very detailed here) because I myself have been struggling with difficult homework. Along with some others, Game and Zang being very notable.

So, on that note, if he isn't posting, he's probably busy coding stuff or learning the scripts of TheSaint's Pokemon Silver Project.

That is a real good game. XD

Aside from that, welcome back Zang. XD I understand that life is getting hectic for you (heck, it's pretty hectic [pun intended] for me) and... idk what to say next. XD

+1 for puns. I love silly, stupid, and relatable puns of any kind. :3
Puns are just so punny.

Re: Pokemon- Land Version and Pokemon- Sea Version Collab

I won't be able to do much work or get much done or be active as much because I am buried in hw so I can't be on much. It is ridiculous how much schoolwork and hw we are getting, being that I am as well in a high grade/faster curriculum it is too much for me to do Scratch and balance my work.

Re: Pokemon- Land Version and Pokemon- Sea Version Collab

OH. MY. GOSH.

Today was a heck of work. Especially for a lazy person who just likes to encourage from the sidelines and be the foreman.

I went swimming first thing in the morning. Not messing around, having fun. It was more like hard labour, nothing to lose for the already passed Olympics. Not only that, we had to go straight to the town's park and work in the heat of the serving burgers and hotdogs to a crowdof people. I think we counted about... 540 people. IN 3 FREAKING HOURS.  We couldn't even leave until three, and then I had to slave away for a few hours getting rid of some assessments, and we're barely half a week through the year.

Other than that, I'm fine. Fine as the sand on the beach that kept itching me for a few months afterwards. In other words, I'm coarse. And tired. Speaking of tired, I had to walk home as well. It took about 1 hour to get home. After being absolutely nacked.

See what I did with tired and having to walk? Y'know, tires on a ca-

I'm using more puns than I should be. XD If you didn't know already, I'm a punk.

OK, I'll stop now.

Right, y'know what? Ima stay on topic for the first time in this post. XD

Welcome back Soniku, we missed you! Can you get the clump sorted anytime soon, or is life too hectic like it is for most of us?

Y'know what? Ignore that question, get it done when you can. It could take several years for this game to finish, we must accept that reality. But just think... if it does, then it is a testimony to our hard work. All of the effort we put into this game is something we should all be proud of. It took a ton of professionals a good few years to make each Pokemon game. I don't expect this to be a one week venture either. But as we have been doing this I just wanna say to you guys:

Thank you. Thank you all for the effort we have done together, to create a truly amazing game, which we still find time to do even in the bustle of our lives. I've been enjoying doing this and I guess it's the reason we've all banded together for this, but I hope you've all enjoyed it too.

Wow, I think I'll grow up to be a political spokesperson who says a ton of garbage to the public. XD

But I really mean that speech. I hope we can complete this game through tough and easy.

LET'S DO THIS THANG!

As of now, since it is soon to the end of this year, Scratch 2.0 is "expected" to release, so  programming and space will be of no problem at all. I am awaiting popopobob's engine so we can go on.

Confused The1UP is confused.

And I hope you're working on that title screen for Pokemon Sea Version if you have time Game.

*sigh* Well, I'm looking forward to Christmas, we'll at least have time.

Sweet time.

Oh, that's why my dad keeps talking about not having enough time.

Darn it school! It's torture enough there, you have to give us homework and give us torture us there?!

Gah, I need to get my orginaization priorities straight. I have like, 12 more pieces of homework to clear throughout the week and I have no time on Friday-Sunday due to a camp. *sigh* I miss the simplicity of not going to school. Before I became interested in anything for more than 2 seconds.

Now before I rant on, I'm gonna... uh...

wait for a reply. *nods*

Ugh.... I prepared a rant but i accidentally hit the back button... Basically what i was getting at was my 'art' was a concept and i think that we should get a real artist to do it.
Also, we need to write the script. As in what all the characters in the whole entire game say. And the pokedex (entries/moveset)

@1up I see you have lots of outstanding homework (ah... synonyms. wait, not synonyms... I forgot what word it was... ugh, It's a Homonym)

1UP what grade are you in, it sounds a lot like the homework I get (I am comparing your whining lol to mine). I get A LOT of homework, and when I say a lot, I sleep at 11:00 p.m-2:00 a.m on a daily basis (7 DAYS A WEEK) I then wake up at 6:00 a.m to get to school which is 3 miles away. But enough about me, I have yet to get feedback from popopopbob and even when it is uploaded, there is no guarantee I will be able to work as much as I used to.

Re: Pokemon- Land Version and Pokemon- Sea Version Collab

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been posting much.

I have been REALLY busy with homework, and whenever I get spare time, I'm working on this game (which is like 1 hour every week XD). I will try to be on more on the weekend, since I have a huge report to finish, so I will have my computer running nearly the entire day. I'll take short breaks and stop by to track progress and stuff. Again guys, I really sorry I can't get on so much, but homework is killing me right now. Currently I JUST got my computer back from being fixed, and guess what? They deleted all my files. That means EVERYTHING I was working on for the past month is gone now, and I'm starting from scratch  (Get it, scratch hehe  smile ) Since I'll be on most of the day, during the weekend, I will probably be able to redo most of what I did before, because I already know exactly what scripts I need .While I am at it, do you guys want me to do anything else? I think we will be able to do a lot during christmas break, where we all will have time.

Except me to be posting a little bit more from now on.  smile

Re: Pokemon- Land Version and Pokemon- Sea Version Collab

As anticipated.

Homework's being a real setback and trouble. For this reason, I don't expect you guys to finish anything soon over the months that come by. So...

Take your time. I'm expecting 3 pieces of homework a day from here on.

This also means that the collab may seem to deteriorate. Don't think that, we're all checking up on the thread when we can. I expect it to pick up very slightly on the weekends. And when sweet Christmas is here...

Then we can work to our hearts' delight.

Wow. Today was awesome. One piece of homework (joy, sweet joy!) and it was maths. Judging the area of parallelograms.

Well, someone like me would be blissful. Done in two minutes.  big_smile

So, that means I'm free for four more hours until I have to sleepysle- never saying that again.

That means I have time to actually contribute to this collab rather than wait for you guys to come up with something good.

You should be proud of your new leader. XD

OK, so Game mentioned having that script for each character in the game. I was thinking, who the first person the player meets is. Well, in the beginning, before you even begin playing, you come across the game's professor. That was when another brainwave struck me.

We haven't any names for the boy and girl player OR the professor.

Since just about every professor in the main series games is named after a tree, I propose Professor Spruce.

And the boy and girl playable characters need a name as well, which shouldn't be too dissimilar from each other. That brings me to...

Bob and Bo- OK, I won't go there. XD

It's... drumroll please... Samuel and Samantha!

Wait, is that too formal? I like how all three names begin with S as well. That's an unusual coincidence. XD

The script.

That, I need a basis of. So give me a few hours. And I'll hopefu- never mind that, I'll just improvise.

Prof. Spruce: Hello! I'm Professor Spruce! Welcome to the World of Pokemon!

Also doing that, I remembered something.

Zang is leading the way in art development (sorry pokedirector, but I don't think you're fit for this job either) yet, as I feared early in the game's development, she can't draw humanoid-like things. That means...

Oh darn. Game, pokedirector, anyone I may have missed because of no recent posts, can you show us your best human drawing? I myself, would fail in life if the world revolved around art because, as you saw earlier in development, I suck. Like a popsicle.

Breakthrough 1: Got the names for three characters sorted, each fitting with Pokemon standards and one line of the script done.

Breakthrough 2: Well... I don't think there is one.

Good. Very good indeed. Excellent even.

We need you popopobob. We really need you for this one. XD

Seriously though, you've been a great help.

You've all been a great help. One thing though...

I forgot to shake all your hands!  yikes

*shakes popopobob's hand* That's a start.

BAH HA HA!

Something I forgot.

Super Paper Mario is one of my favorite games. Not for anything but the humor.

IT'S SO FUNNY.

So, I'll need your opinions on this guys, but what do you think about having humorous content in the game?
