You should get a message when someone posts on a thread made by you.


What if this were not a hypothetical question?

Kingoflego,  whether e-mail notification or My Stuff page notification is better depends on the individual.  I agree that it would nice for "subscribe to this topic" to give you the choice of either (or both) notification methods.

I mainly use 'subscribe to topic" to keep a bookmark list of threads that had something interesting I might want to get back to, which is different from the notification process it is intended for, so it might even be nice to have "subscribe to topic" with *neither* notification method.
