Why would anyone want to wear chains?
Yeah they're kind of ugly, IMO (i.e. unfit for ceremonies; personally, I like gold).

I'm probably going to usually wear dyed leather on multiplayer as normal clothes, I'm trying to choose the colours I like best.

But all it takes in emeralds and villagers. Other stuff actually needs to get mined, hence displaying both good looks and actual riches.

Villagers are hard to find. Emeralds require payment to gain. Or mined, which is even harder. And anyway, most villages don't have anyone selling chainmail.

Me too. When they release the Pretty Scarry Update, I'm going to wear a blue shirt and black pants.

Using creative I found that the average amount of emeralds you need to spend to get a chain piece from a villager is ~40, also note that you could get the same piece.
Super expensive to get.

It would be better if there was a skin editor option in the menu.

IKR? I also can't wait for the Mod API. I want to shrink down and tame spiders with ease.

I played that one with insanely fast leveling to abuse the enchantment system.

I usually play it for a day or two untill I uninstall it. It's super easy to do, if you're used to mucking around in your downloads folder.

+1
I just play it a bit, then get rid of it.

I usually download the snapshot into a Minecraft "profile". The "profile" is just a batch script that sets the "appdata" environmental variable to another location, then runs Minecraft.
