Every time I try to upload a project to my Scratch account, it freezes, and text shows up that says: "You need to restart your computer."
This happened with Scratch 1.4, too, unfortunately.
Could someone please help?

This is an idea a little out of the ordinary.
You will need an Intel-powered Mac. (Let's just assume you do)
1.Download a copy of the Ubuntu OS from ubuntu.com (it is a free OS).
2.Download a copy of virtualbox for mac.
3.Start VirtualBox.
4.Follow these instructions: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/cool-we … -software/
5.Open up the web browser that came with Ubuntu. (I have no idea what that is, sorry.)
^^^
Click Applications, then Internet, then the internet browser. (whatever it is)
6a.Download this.
6b. Open terminal. (somewhere in the Applications menu)
6c. Type "sudo dpkg -i scratch-1.4.0_0.0-3_i386.deb" (no quotes)
6d. Press enter.
6e. Wait until it says Setting up...
6f. Run Scratch (probably somewhere in Applications)
7.Build a sample project.
8.Try uploading your project.
9.Tell me how that goes.

I have the same problem. When I go to Upload on my Powerbook, it gets to a point, frezzes, and says that I have a FATAL KERNEL ERROR!!!

When I reboot my Mac, it all loads fine. I tried again, and the Mac went again.
Could you help? (It isn't ment to be here, my Macintosh is PowerPC.)

1.Don't make fake sigs.
2. Hmm... what running system are you using? If its too old, scratch won't work on your computer.

I am running Mac OSX 10.5.7 on a PowerBook G4 12 inch (Processer is a model 867 MHz (PowerPC G4)). Does that help? There is a Mac OSX Update to 10.5.8, but I would need my dads password, and all the rest of Scratch works.

What I think is that somthing was going on to your computer when you were downloading scratch. Try re-downloading.

I, however, have these:
version: Mac OS X 10.5.7
processor: 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
memory: 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
scratch: 1.4
I didn't install it to the Applications folder, either. Could that be the problem?

Oh-- I just got it! Apparently, Scratch 1.4 wasn't working well with my Mac's Parental Control settings. From now on, I'll have to use an Admin's account.
Ok.
A:It (probably) isn't just Scratch 1.4
and
B:Yeah. I am using Parental Controls. If you want to know, the first few times, it got to "loading network drivers" and showed the kernel panic. Same again after that, though showing "You need to reboot your Macintosh". Apparently, it's a port error. That means that Scratch is using a blocked-out port by Parental.
:-(
Please, please apple! Please fix this in Snow Lepoard!
Love,
Bike4hours.

Become an admin: that's how I do it. I had the same problem for a long time.

It seems that a lot of people running Macs have had this problem when using Parental Control software. Do you have any of that running? And if you do...can you try turning it off and seeing if that helps?

Let me try (I've got Mac OS X Snow Leopard)......
Works for me!

That.....Is the weirdest solution I have ever seen. It works, but it's weird.

bump. It kernel panics, I think it's because it's trying to force data out of a blocked port.

Please do not bump a 2 year old topic which was buried in the forums from a long time ago.
