This is based on this forum topic. If you flag a comment by mistake it could say:
You have flagged this comment. Flagged by mistake? Unflag comment
Then on projects it would say:
Thanks for monitoring the community. Someone will review this project. Scratch On! Flagged by mistake? Unflag project
That's what I'm thinking. Scratch On!
I am requesting to close this topic because you people won't stop treating this suggestion uselessly and talking about people being stupid about flagging.

See my reply on that topic. I am neither for nor against this. (Neutral, to be exact.)

This is true, but it would be a good idea to implement this, so the ST isn't investigating things that didn't need investigation in the first place. Why not save them some trouble?

do you realize how hard it is to flag a comment on accident? you not only have to click the link, you have to ok a popup window or type some text. i hardly think it is likely to happen on a regular enough basis to merit this system
the only time you'd ever want to unflag something is if you just didn't know the rules before (you should have read them first though) or if you went on a rampage and flagged tons of stuff, and are now repenting (you shouldn't rampage either)
so any time you would want to unflag something, you were obviously ignorant or have anger management issues
its easier just to flag the right stuff

but flagging a tag doesn't bring up a pop-up.
how about, a pop up is induced when flagging a tag!

that would be nice, ive accidentally flagged tags on many occasions

Support both the unflagging and tag flag popups.

Support for pop-up for flagging of tags, don't support for flagging of comments.

It's really hard to accidentally flag a project because you have to flag, type and then enter, and it will ask you if you're sure, and everything. Comments ask you if you're sure, and I don't think accidental flagging happens often enough for it to be a real problem.

What if anyone DID accidentally flag a project?

They would be quite stupid.

And that's a generalization.
It's quite possible for a person to have misinterpreted the content of the project and when they review it they realize that it wasn't a problem after all. Just take the difference between "Hello" with and without an "o"; it's possible to misread this and flag the project for cursing, but then realize you just read it incorrectly.

Humans make mistakes.
Why don't you think an "Undo" button would be nice for when we do?

Think better! How about if someone typed in an explanation and decided to click cancel and they accidentally clicked Flag ? Ha!

humans do make mistakes but you can always try to minimize them
when you're driving on the road you always need to check to see if its safe. this should be the same for flagging: you need to check to see if its really inappropriate before you flag.
besides if you misflag something its not like the scratch team is going to ban you or come to your house to beat you up, its probably a very common thing. i was told by cheddargirl that they only punish users who abuse flagging, not honest mistakes.

I support having a pop up for flagging tags though.

OverPowered has a good idea about the "Undo" button and Wes64 is right, it is easier to flag the right stuff. I also agree on what OverPowered said in the quote above about misreading a project.
