Title says all.
In some cases, I don't really like the word "Stage".
Just an idea.
I guess that would be helpful. Example names would be "Background", "Screen" (OSs), "Display" (programs like VLF).

I'm sorry, but I don't support. Scratch is about simplicity, and having the stage name-able would be confusing (I could have it as LOLIMBORED, and someone else could have it as screen). A good idea in general, but not for Scratch. 135th post!

This is true, but wouldn't it be the same thing for sprites, too? People could put a random name for sprites if they wanted. And besides, how would it be confusing? It's in a seperate section of the sprites panel.

How do see exactly how many posts you have if it says "100+" or "500+" or "1000+"?

Oh wait, I think I took that the wrong way.
Do you mean on one computer, it would say LOLIMBORED, but on another computer it would say screen? In that case, it could work how sprite names do--the stage name is part of the project, and not the default all-time string that Scratch uses (Stage). That way the stage name will be the same for all computers, just like sprite names.

Thank you, CN12, by the way.

Yeah. I think you can see it. I'm not sure.
EDIT: Anyways, let's not get sidetracked.

That does sound cool, but MrFlash67 could be right. Scratch IS supposed to be for simplicity.

You can already name the backgrounds, so this would be unnecessary.

Can name Sprites.
Why can we not name background?
Being able to rename the background does not make Scratch jump from simple to incredibly complex.

Yes, but you can also name costumes. So what you're saying is, if it would be unnecessary to name the Stage it would be unnecessary to name the Sprites.

What's the point though?
This. I mean, it's kinda pointless to name it, naming sprites in the first place was supposed to make you find things easier if, say, you aren't very organized or something.
You can't make multiple stages. There's just no point at all.
Sorry, I don't support. It's rather pointless.
