This isn't going to happen.
This feature was added to prevent spamming for a high post count. The scratch said the reason why the didn't hide them entirely was so you could see how experience a user may be. A user with 1000+ is experienced enough, so adding higher would make users try for them, which defeats the objective.Support that.
Yay, I'm experienced enough. Right?
Anyways, you can still see your real post count when you click profile, but that's just you who can see it.Well, you could put something like "I have 1376 posts (updated 8/16/2012)" in your sig if you want everyone to see.
If more milestones ARE added, I think there should only be 2000+, and maybe 3000+.
That would mean a lot of users who have between 1000 and 3000 posts may post just for a higher post count, and this feature was only added to avoid this.

Don't support... Beyond 1000 posts, do you really need to know how many posts you've had? People know you've dedicated a lot of time and effort to the community when they see "1000+" under your name...
Showing that you have more is unecessary, promotes spam, and is just kind of braggy.

Maybe it could just display the exact number until 1000+?

That would encourage post spamming and the ST doesn't want that. I'm fine with the milestones we already have.

1000 is fine enough. The reason why the ST even has a post count with milestones is because they want people to know wether or not a scratcher is reliable or not. Milestones after 1000 would be useless because 1000+ already shows your devotion to the forums.

Okay, 5,000.
For the same reasons as above, 1,000+ is good enough. Very few scratchers even get to 5000, so people would start competing with other scratchers to get to 5000 first and that would decrease the quality of posts on the forums.

2,000. A lot of people have 2,000. (Not me. Or you)

There are several people with over 10,000, and 5,000, so they would be nice additions. And although it may encourage some to spam, for me, when I was approaching 1,000, That was when at was most helpful. I was working toward a goal, and I always am at my best when aiming for something. If anything, it would make me work harder around here, to earn that milestone. But there are those who just want it to have it, and that would be a problem. I'm neutral, because of the offsetting effects. However, 9,000+ would be a cool milestone to have...

I was at my best when going for 300 posts. That day I posted 41 helpful things.

On the day I was going for 1,000, I posted more than 150 helpful things. It took a long time to find all that stuff, I had to look everywhere!

i now think that post count shouldnt be displayed at all
i mean if you're just hunting around and posting on 150 topics, sonicfan12p, and trying to reach 1000, chances are the posts you made were rushed or irrelevant or distanced from the discussion or unhelpful

Well I try to post on all the things I feel like I need to post on, but I don't normally just post "lol"(I have before, but I don't much).

They were acually on topic, relevant discussion, which is the only thing keeping me neutral, since it's possible lots of good can come from it. As for rushed, I was of course, excited, but not rushed. Also, most of them were in help with scripts, and questions about Scratch. I'd love to do it again! And would, if not that my time is a little more constrained.
