Anyways, you can still see your real post count when you click profile, but that's just you who can see it.

Well, you could put something like "I have 1376 posts (updated 8/16/2012)" in your sig if you want everyone to see.

If more milestones ARE added, I think there should only be 2000+, and maybe 3000+.

That would mean a lot of users who have between 1000 and 3000 posts may post just for a higher post count, and this feature was only added to avoid this.

Don't support... Beyond 1000 posts, do you really need to know how many posts you've had? People know you've dedicated a lot of time and effort to the community when they see "1000+" under your name...
Showing that you have more is unecessary, promotes spam, and is just kind of braggy. 

Maybe it could just display the exact number until 1000+?

1000 is fine enough. The reason why the ST even has a post count with milestones is because they want people to know wether or not a scratcher is reliable or not. Milestones after 1000 would be useless because 1000+ already shows your devotion to the forums.

For the same reasons as above, 1,000+ is good enough. Very few scratchers even get to 5000, so people would start competing with other scratchers to get to 5000 first and that would decrease the quality of posts on the forums.

2,000. A lot of people have 2,000. (Not me. Or you)

They were acually on topic, relevant discussion, which is the only thing keeping me neutral, since it's possible lots of good can come from it. As for rushed, I was of course, excited, but not rushed. Also, most of them were in help with scripts, and questions about Scratch. I'd love to do it again! And would, if not that my time is a little more constrained.
