I know.

Read the book?

I've read it! One of my favorite books!
The LOTR trilogy was wonderful too, but I think it was heavier and more complex.
The Hobbit, while it also has morals and all that stuff, is more of a "lighthearted classic adventure" instead of an "epic save the world adventure"

I like Gollum, AKA Smeagol.

My favorite chapter is Riddles in the Dark. People say the book is slow but I never really got bored in it.

It's not slow, and I like Gollum and how he talks.

I read it for school once.

I just did.
Long story, highlight to read:
So, I was given it in 3rd grade. I read the 1st chapter and it was boring. Now, years later, I'm reading it again in school. I finished it in the first day, though.

To dungeons deep...
And caverns old...
I really, really like the book, and want to see the movie.
I thought it was funny during the battle when Bilbo is yelling but no one can see him because he had the ring on.

I love the Hobbit and the Lord of the rings! I don't consider the Lord of the Rings as a triligy however, because it was meant to be one book. Back on topic though, the Hobbit is a great book, and I'm so excited for the movie to come out on Dec. 14! Did you know that JRR Tolkien wrote the Hobbit for children, and the Lord of the Rings more for young adults?

I didn't think it was that long... compared to the Lord of the Rings...

I read the first few chapters but for some reason I didn't finish it, but now I don't have to because the movie is coming out.

I'm reading it right now because my dad forced me too after I bought it and never read it So far it's great, I just never dove in because I found the first chapter really boring.

I kind of like it. In the beginning, barely anything happens. Bilbo starts his adventure and occasionally encounters enemies. That's the entire first half of the book. Then it gets interesting with the barrels, the ring, the dragon, etc...
I'd say my favorite part of the book was Bilbo's "fight" with the giant spiders. It was pretty funny.

The first few chapters are boring and people judge a book by its color, hence people thinking its slow and boring. Awesome book!
