Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

Hm, well, I'm not wholly sure what we're going to be doing right after we finish the Abbey Road Medley; I don't know if we're going to be doing the entire "Abbey Road" album or our own album with our own track listing.

We'll talk about that a bit more after we release our first single.  smile

Oh.  tongue  Hmm, yeah, you could work on that. I would suggest something with a sun - maybe a photograph with text in the corner "Here Comes the Sun/Yesterday - The Walruses".

Yep, I'm quite excited about that.  big_smile  Great to see you back, DIY, hope you had an excellent vacation.  smile

Now that he's back, I hope we can move along once more.

Also, on a different note, best of luck, Frozen Coco, heading on to other music websites - I hope you make it big, or, as the Beatles would say, "to the toppermost of the poppermost".  big_smile

Thanks, glad you liked the result. It was my idea to release on techno's birthday.  tongue

John: Where are we goin' fellas?
Paul, George & Ringo: To the top Johnny!

Not sure the band considers it that way given the problems we've had here, lol  lol

I wouldn't know. I didn't really follow the band until recently. All collabs have problems though.

How's the mixing going? The album art is almost finished.

FC has been way too restricted on Scratch, so this is certainly not the place for us. In addition to all the troubles, we have some pretty mature stuff coming up, so it'll be great to be accepted by a wider community.

LOL, while nothing's really been happening here (looks like you've been depending a lot on me), I've mixed Here Comes the Sun and Yesterday, the former sans vocals. The vocal track for HCtS didn't sound good with the mix, so I guess I may give it a go, but that's not a promise. Moog effects are done for HCtS and I got a decent orchestral backing online for Yesterday. They are raw mixes still, and I'd prefer if you saw the final result in one go. It'll be great.

Anything specific wrong with the vocals?

As All4one said, your vocals didn't sound too good for the song. That was the same with my mix.

You know, like too low for the song. It didn't suit it too well. Also, there's way too much reverb. Anything else on the menu?

It seemed to be how George sang it.

What about the 'sun sun such here it comes' bit? Would you like me to do all of the song at that pitch?

We're doing the whole abbey road album AFAIK.

Just give it a go. Currently, it's way too low.

I did propose the Abbey Road album to All4one, and he liked the idea, but we'll have to finish off the medley first.

Ok. I'll try to minimise the echo. How's the vocals for yesterday coming along?

Recorded it already. Sounds fantastic, but it's just a raw mix. I still need to fix some sync issues with the guitar track and orchestral backing.

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

Was my guitar track not very good?

Also, I have a proposition, how about, instead of me being the rhythm guitar guy and you being then lead guitar guy, I'll be the acoustic guitaguy and you can be the electric guitar guy, as that seems to be how it is right now.

Except for a few mistakes, it was fine. The orchestral is at a slightly slower tempo, so I'll need to fix that.

Yeah, I guess that's the way it's anyway going to work out as I will be handling electric lead and electric rhythm.

Yeah, I second that - I think that would be the best idea - I'll change that on the roster now.

Also, I'm glad to hear that the mixing process for our single is turning out all right. I hope that DIY's go at the vocals will be a keeper, or else we'll be in a somewhat sticky situation.  tongue

Well, the vocals should be OK I suppose, but again, no promises.  smile

That shouldn't keep us from recording though. I believe you've recorded all your parts, so we need to tell wolvesstar97 to record drums. I am working on my piano and electric guitar tracks, some which have been recorded and match the tone of the medley.

EDIT: 600th post.
