nice but I think that on 1.5 we have a block that lets you store a data block over the internet or use a connection server... But then again maybe thats 2 advanced

It's a good idea. They used to have Advanced blocks accessible using the Extras menu, which they took away, and they took the blocks away anyhow. If they brought it back, they could put this block in there.

The link seems to be broken. I get the message " You don't have permission to access /~jmaloney/scratch1.4rc/WinScratch1.4rc.zip on this server." when trying to download http://web.media.mit.edu/~jmaloney/scratch1.4rc/WinScratch1.4rc.zip
I have he Lego Wedo robot kit I would like to test this version on Scratch on.
Thanks

um... so if i download via windows installer, will it overwrite 1.3.1? will i lose the projects i created on that? i made this acc for 1.4, as i'm worried i'll lose my progress in 1.3.1. What will happen if i download it? will all my projects and scripts remain untouched?

The downloads should be working now. If you have had trouble downloading Scratch Release Candidate 1.4, please go to the Release Candidate page and try your download again.
Cheers!

Is Scratch 1.4 supposed to be out today?

i think i found a glitch; when there is a block, such as
<set y to( 0
i can't add another block, like
<mouse y>
into the space, when it's in the script. when it's just alone, it's fine.

I know this has nothing to do with the subject but what the heck happened to "My Friends' Latest Project"?

Curious about Scratch version 1.4? Willing to test a pre-release version to help us find bugs?
The preliminary version of Scratch 1.4 (officially known as "Scratch 1.4 Release Candidate") is now available at:
http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Scratch_1.4_Release_Candidate
The final version of Scratch 1.4 is expected at the end of June. It will include improvements to the sample projects, updated translations, and fixes to any major bugs that show up during testing.
If you try this preliminary version, you should update to the final version when it becomes available.

I found a bug: Deleted variables always reappear whenever you click "Save."

Are you sure? A deleted variable will come up again after hitting save if it's still used in a code somewhere.

It worked! I thought I had deleted all of them, but it was hidden in a long script. Thanks!
