Re: Scratch Made-up Language

Fwago, fire, is actually a weirdly spelled spanish word-meaning fire. Fuego is the actual Spanish word./weirdonerd Lol. Anyway,

Knife:Kilfer [Kill-fear]

I have a weird mind that finds that pronunciation oddly fitting.

One does not simply, make up a language.

Especially when you just change words. You need to change the structure of the grammar too, and the sounds the characters make. You need to establish roots and suffixes to use in more complex words. Otherwise its not very unique.

I agree with this.

I have been coming up with my own language for about a year now. I have made many roots and suffixes and am working on a simple grammar system.
It is Dutch or German inspired mostly. I will post a fraction of the dictionary if anyone is interested.

Does this language use 1,2,3,4 or it's own set of number symbols? We are going to need them because writing any number bigger than 10 is a pain in the backside.

1,2,3,4,etc. probably.

0 is a [a]

10 to the 11th power is

ba-ba-unn-unn-a-a

bacically:
ten-one zeroes after one

it could also be ba-ba-unn unn-a-a.

Re: Scratch Made-up Language

the unn - a thing means

[number] x 10^ something

ok? basically

Code:

ba-duu-a
==
and two zeros

Also, multiple of these get added,

1000 un-ba-tre-a
 200 duu-ba-duu-a
  40 qua-ba-unn-a
   5 sin

Re: Scratch Made-up Language

Why not create a outline to make it much simpler and to conjugate much easier, You do not simply create a lanuguage you need to create the grammer and a foundation not just random words.

how about use [Ny] To create opposite words. Ex. Kinf [Male] Kinfny [Female]
How about use [Ra] To create formal words Ex. Hef [Hi] Hefra [Hello]
How about replacing the last letter with [E] to use past tense Ex. Todobara [Run] Todobare
How about use [j] to create plural's Ex. le Kinf Todobara [The man runs] le Kinfj Todobara [The men run]

Re: Scratch Made-up Language

ex for opposite is good, but just for adjectives. lets not use it for genders as that would seem too sexist

no, lets use extensions for past/future

for plurals, bow about Kinf - Kinflu
