I don't really like having to go to other websites just to share and host images. So I thought Scratch could have its own Image-Hosting area on the site and people can use them in Forum Posts and stuff.

Tinypic is just too easy.
But what about parents that are too overprotective and block ALL image hosting sites?
Scratch would be good for people like this.

I have never heard of a parent who is that overprotective.
Also, an image service actually has nothing to do with what this website is intended for. Don't support.

I also don't support. jvvg is right.

i support jvvg
its just too easy to find a workaround. if your parents were that overprotective i bet you wouldn't even be on the forums at all.
besides, if all these images were being uploaded the st would not only have to build additional things for the website but would also need much more space
if your parents really are that overprotective, just put the image in a scratch project and upload it

Well, What if there ARE parents that overprotective? Scratch would be good for people in that kind of situation like owetre18 said.

Let's stop with the hypotheticals. Besides, if any parent was that overprotective, they probably wouldn't let their kid use Scratch at all.

Yes. Technically, I'm just afraid of getting viruses by loading ads on things like those sites.

Tinypic is really easy, and overprotective parents would hardly let you on fourums with other people if they block image sites. Also, an image hosting would require A.A lot of memory space, and B.intensive moderation.

Parents over-protective enough to not let you see any pictures probably wouldn't have you on the internet.

I remember a case where there was a scratcher who had this problem. Parental controls, and too many of them. They just forgot to block scratch.

Whose parents are that overprotective? Mine. I had to fight to be able to get on Scratch.
But even though I essentially cannot use images in my posts, I'm ok. What would I need images for on a programming website's forum that comes ready-loaded with Scratchblocks?
Hosting and moderating this mostly nonessential service is not worth it, at least not right now.

Doesn't seem so practical. As several users have stated above, it requires a ton of server space that Scratch doesn't have. A $500 donation (or any, really) would help their server, if you would like to.
Moderation of all these images being uploaded is also just something the mods do not really want to commit to. While some might think of us as being here to put out flames and move/close topics, we really just try to be extra helpful members of the community, with moderating as an extra privilege/responsibility.
So, while i understand your intentions with this idea, it's just not really practical.
