[GUIDE] How to set a custom country

I don't think very many people know this, so I made a guide about it.

WARNING: I use Google Chrome, so you might need that or something that has inspect element.

STEP 1. Go to your profile

STEP 2. Click on the name of your current country

STEP 3. Hover your mouse over the country drop-down list

STEP 4. Right-click (or command or control click on a mac, I can't remember which one)

STEP 5. Click "Inspect Element"

STEP 6. A box should pop up at the bottom of the screen that says stuff in it

STEP 7. The "<select>...</select>" should be highlighted

STEP 8. Click on the little arrow that's pointing to the right

STEP 9. A bunch of option value things should appear

STEP 10. Scroll down to the bottom one (should be Zimbabwe)

STEP 11. Right click on the Zimbabwe one (or whatever the mac thing is) and press "Edit as HTML"

STEP 12. Copy this: <option value="Sample">Sample</option>

STEP 13. Click on the end of the Zimbabwe thing, press enter (or return >:U), then paste

STEP 14. Change the "Sample"s from the new option value to what you want your custom country to be

STEP 15. Exit out of the Inspect Element thing and choose what you added in, at the end of the list

Ta-da! Just like magic! This worked for me, so it will hopefully work for other people  tongue

Macs can right click just like normal. Control clicking works on Macs for sure, and I think it works on Windows.

Control click does nothing on Windows and many Macs don't have two-button mice so control click is required.

Contrary to popular belief, magic mice have a right click function. It's not enabled by default which is why many tutorials motion control clicking. It's easy to enable though.

BACK ON TOPIC.

I like this guide.

I saw this in Wes64's test account, but it used FF. Anyway, does anyone have a version for IE?

I don't think it's possible in IE.

I don't think it's possible in IE.

In IE8 and above, press F12 and go through the code until you find it. It might be easier to use search though.

But does that actually change what's displayed?

Yes it does. It is similar to how you do it in Chrome except it doesn't has "Inspect element", so you have find the code yourself.

I like this guide.

Laptops can also right click, you just click with 2 fingers. I don't know why everyone thinks macs can't right click. I even have a really old mag with just a generic, old mac mouse and it can right click.

I did this in a lot less steps with firebug extension, using the inspect element button.  Thanks for the idea!

Did it save? Usually inspect element is only a temporary edit...  hmm

It probably did, if LiquidMetal used inspect element to add another entry to the select.
