When I was making a project,a odd file named "tmp0" appeared on my desktop.
What really odd was that when I clicked on it it wouldn't open, when I tried to delete it
I couldn't,and when I tried to compress it my os said that: An error occurred while trying to compress "".
And the weirdest was that when I dragged it over the dock, the dock restarted!
NOTE:temp files should go in /temp not /users/[username]/desktop!
when gf clicked if <temp files on desktop> some<(thing)is(odd!)> end end

That happens to me all the time. It's just something to help the computer save. Also, if you mess with it, your project can get "corrupted" and be unable to run.

You can remove/delete them once you close Scratch. But they are useless.
Also it saves the temp files to whatever folder the project is in, Im pretty sure the directory C:\temp is only used by programs that connect to the internet.

C:\ is your computer's hard drive, temp is the folder where temporary data is saved.
On a Windows computer (or at least on XP), it's generally at
C:\Documents and Settings\(user account)\Local Settings\Temp

Mine must have different settings applied then, cause everything goes in C:\temp
