SHIFT 3

Graphics
20/50; The only weak part of the game. The lava could have been flatter and more colorful, the platforms could have looked nicer, and the box- well, it's just a box.

Script Quality
50/50; No bugs or glitches, works on both players, the physics are AMAZING, this gets the high score!

Game Concept
40/50; Much like another platformer, but the story of this game adds some flavor to it.

Gameplay
50/50; Absolutely PERFECT. I never want to stop playing the game, it has great replay ability due to it's plenty of levels, and it is FUN. REALLY FUN. This is actually the first 50/50 I'm giving on gameplay! Great job!

Final Rating
160/200; an amazing game! I'm gonna keep playing once I've finished this review!

ADDITIONAL NOTES

The music was AWESOME! I now regret not giving music ratings.

Thanks for the best Re-view ever!

BALLMAN VS. THE BALLMONSTER

Graphics
45/50; Beautiful. I love all of the effects and the 8-bit theme!

Script Quality
30/50; There are quite a few ways you can cheat in this game. For instance, you can hold the down arrow and leave the screen, never to be seen again. You can also go right behind the enemy, where he will never shoot you. Those kinds of things need improvement.

Game Concept
40/50; It would have seemed just like another shooter game, except for the fact that you are a ball man, and the enemy was a ball monster. That's creative!

Gameplay
30/50; Hard, but fun! There should also be more obstacles than just the ball monster's fire. that makes it too simple.

Final Rating
145/200; Not bad, but could use a little work.

TANKS 4.3

Graphics
30/50; Definitely not bad, but a little plain.

Script Quality

20/50; This was EXTREMELY glitchy. Once I got to negative lives, once I could not move (no, it wasn't the cutscene) and so so many times I died for absolutely no reason, having to start the entire game over!!!

Game Concept
35/50; There were plenty of games like this, but the "Fortress of the pink leader" and the password guy at the beginning made it more creative.

Gameplay
25/50; WAAAAY too hard. It is frustrating to be fired at by a billion annoying pink tanks,
get certain death from helicopter missiles, and become hopeless once you see giant pink tanks.

Final rating:
110/200; It is extremely annoying to start the entire game over when you die. When the pink tanks start firing, they NEVER stop.

BALLOON DODGE

Graphics
50/50; Incredible! Incredible! I've never seen graphics these good in my entire scratch life! Awesome!

Script Quality
50/50; No bugs at ALL, amazing; especially for such a fast paced game!

Game Concept
50/50; I have never seen a game like this, and it proudly succeeds to show me that this is a very good concept!

Gameplay
50/50; This is what separates this game from "Generation 4000" The gameplay is extremely fast paced, exciting, and fun! I want to play this FOREVER!!!!

Final Rating
200/200; This could easily be considered the best game in scratch history! Everyone who is viewing this forum is strongly advised to try it out.

That's odd, I spot checked it really well this time.  hmm  Negative lives, with how I set it up, is theoretically impossible, if the program functions normally. I could think of only one way you couldn't move, and that's the maze, which the wall occassionally glitch up, but it worked 9/10 in testing. Also, you shouldn't have started over, it would start at last checkpoint. A.K.A. levels 1, 2, 3, and the boss. If you clicked the start from last checkpoint button. I won't say anything about the graphics, since I drew them myself, and am a very rushed artist. Not much patience there I'm afraid!  tongue  Also, I thought it was a bit easy, considering the last game, but there's a certain trick to it to actually survive. I gave the Tank enough range to stay out of tricky situations. Also, the helicopter can only shoot at the lower half of the screen. Just go above it. When I was testing, I kept thinking, this is too easy, I should have mad it harder. But I guess not!  tongue

FRUIT PONG V1.1

Graphics
40/50; Pretty cool, the fruits were the best. They were very creative.

Script Quality
35/50; Not bad, but does have quite a few glitches (that most other pong related games have).

Game Concept
25/50; Well, it's pong; that's for sure. But I'm not sure if the "fruit" part makes it that different...

Gameplay
20/50; Pretty slow and boring, with no special features like power-ups or speed-ups, or anything like that.

Overall rating:
120/200; Not terrible, but a few things hold the game down.

Thanks! There actually are some powerups and bonuses, but I scripted it so that there was a 50% chance of finding a powerup.

DESPERATION VOYAGE

Graphics
30/50; Nothing special, but the looking around effect is cool.

Script Quality
30/50; The looking around effect could have been smoother, and there are no bugs or glitches mainly because the "game" is unbelievably short.

Game Concept
35/50; I liked the idea, but it could have been released a little better.

Gameplay
0/50; Since this isn't really a game, there is no real gameplay.

Final rating:
95/200; Could use some nice effects, like smoother animations, but overall, not bad at all.

ULTRA OS

Graphics
35/50; Would have been a higher rating, but easily many files can pile up on each-other and make everything messy.

Script Quality
40/50; I found a few bugs, but none of them were that bad.

Game Concept
45/50; The idea of controlling a computer in a scratch projects sounds really cool; and IS really cool.

Gameplay
40/50; Really fun! I wouldn't get bored for about an hour!

Final rating
160/200; Decent and fun! Not many bad things to say!

EPNINJA:STORY OF THE SPRITE

Graphics
50/50; I can't believe my eyes! The animation is beautiful and the sprites themselves are amazing!

Script Quality
50/50; I could find absolutely no bugs, and everything (seemingly) functioned the way they were supposed to.

Game Concept
40/50; Mostly an RPG, but all of the "story of the sprite" stuff keeps things interesting!

Gameplay
45/50; Amazing and extremely fun, except some things that would be nice to have were lacked, like the enemy's health bar. But still fun and amazing!

Final Rating:
185/200; A wonderful and fun game! One of Scratch's best projects!

I couldn't add any more HUDs because what I already had there kinda cluttered the screen, the health bar being the biggest  and I couldn't make it any smaller because it works by size, any smaller and it would disappear too quickly from being to small, another bar of the same type would cover the whole screen. That's why when the actions are performed I made the HUDs disappear/fade away so that the screen would be cleaner and make the attack clearer and better looking.
But thanks for the great review.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I LOST TOP POSITION! Sorry but I'm really competitive, and I'm sure northmeister would agree that us two have to battle it out for top  big_smile

basically, I lost on gameplay. Now the thing is that when you play balloon dodge, the first minute is fresh, the there is nothing new which changes the game dramatically. So, even if you could play for say an hour, you'd notice it's getting VERY repetitive. however on G:4000, once you have built the first few types of buildings there are still plenty more to keep you going. Fed up of the music? Change the songs in the playlist! Fed up of the advisor? Replace him with a vampire!

Also, about graphics. The background of clouds had a big 'cut' in it, and looked like it was from google images (in a polite way... YOU CHEATED!!!) Also, the spikes and the border look untidy and unfinished, with no gradient fill and some of the spikes weren't even pointy!!!! (tut tut tut) So most of the graphics were great with smooth animations, but those things need to be taken into consideration.

So... your turn  big_smile

Generation:4001 Build a beautiful city, with over 50 objects and over 10000 tiles per city! This simulates traffic, pollution, tourism, crime and more!
