This fits, right? I mean, it does stand for Survey, Question, READ, Recite Review. But someone please tell me if I'm force-fitting this topic in here.
It's my first year in middle school, and on the first day, our science teacher hands us this paper explaining SQ3R. Honestly though, why bother, when you could just read it? Why ask all those dumb questions, and why drive your brother insane by reciting? (especially when you already have to recite Latin vocab)
I think it's just like how they tell you to do word problems in math. They make such a simple thing so unnecessarily long and complicated.
Anyway, discuss your opinions on SQ3R here.
EDIT: Wha??? It totally messed up mah title!

exactly. people always assume that if you take it step by step you'll do it better.
i hate it when teachers literally make me dumb myself down by subjecting me to these worthless exercises which only serve to suppress my creativity
i never use sq3r or analyze things the way i'm supposed to and I get A's anyways
another thing like this is cornell notes. I mean, why in the flying heavens should I take notes in such a rigid, restrictive, and unusable fashion? I cant make heads or tails of my own cornell notes. when I do it my own way I get yelled at! I mean whats the stinking point of taking notes if I can't do it my own way? im supposed to be learning and i learn by taking notes MY WAY.
i know I took a computer course last year (the basic one because you need to take level 1 before moving forward) and we literally learned only the basics of photoshop. Im very advanced at photoshop. the catch? my teacher wouldn't let me use my own skills. i understood everything to a point, and yet I had to dumb myself down or risk being punished because I was too good at photoshop and would "distract the other students". WHAT??? i mean, the clueless gangster who sat next to me probably learned a lot more from me that he did from YOU, my teacher. i helped hi mlearn, and somehow im not supposed to do that?
wooh sorry, I rant a lot about things i hate
