Today, I want to bring up the subject of Hardcore and Casual Gamers. What do you think is the difference between the two?
Personally, I think a Casual gamer is a gamer who plays game's in their free time, and just try to have fun. I think a Hardcore gamer is a gamer who spends their time trying to master a game, and will play any game they can find.

Yeah, I agree with what you are thinking. I'd say I'm more a casual gamer, because I never feel I need to beat the game, and I'd rather play it in my spare time.

Well, if you put it that way, I'm a mix of both. But I'm leaning a bit towards hardcore.

I'm a mix too. I play in my free time, but it must be defeated! Or else!

Im a casual, but since Xbox has achievements and all, its really tempting to try and beat the game completely. So I beat the game as much as I can.

I play hardcore. All the time.
Yeah, I reset my achievements with every world I make, and don't play another one (except my creative one) until I beat all of them. Again, and again, and again. (this is minecraft)
Or I make sure I get all achievements with one class before playing the other (TF2)
Or just try to waste as much time as possible to get the achievements (GMod)
I love the enter key.

IMO, as the definition of a game becomes looser and looser the definition of hardcore gamer has to be more and more accepting.
Playing Angry Birds or something on your phone is casual. Having a Wii with Sports and only a couple other titles is also casual I would say.
But regardless of attempting to master or beat a game, a hardcore gamer is just someone who plays larger games like Skyrim, Zelda, Portal, etc. and spends a significant investment of time and money on the hobby.

Ditto. 'Cept Minecraft, it's a sandbox game. We don't need a freaking boss.

I was a hardcore gamer about 5 years ago, well not that hardcore because mostly I was hanging out with friends, but I was always playing games when on computer.
Now I don't play games at all unless it is an epic game like fallout 1 or 2, although I spend much more time on computer than before,
