Sorry, those were some great ideas. But we could incorporate them as countries of Africa. It does have over Fifty countries in it. XDAre you talking about my ideas?
I take it you mean that the entire region is based off of Africa, that is fine with me, I just thought providing other ideas would be good.Oh yes, talking about your ideas, they're the best I've seen in a long time.
I agree with The1Up.
1. I could never be that creative.
2. I could never type something like that without at least 10-15 typos
So congrats on writing those awesome ideas XD
But I was wondering, couldn't we just incorporate small neighboring countries off Africa? I mean, it couldn't hurt

Maybe make Madagascar the area where Victory Road and the Elite Four are! And I think that The1UP should be champion, and maybe I could be an optional boss after the Elite Four that was the former champion. Or we could have that for Pokemon- Sky Version.

Madagascar is a part of Africa XD
And to pokedirector, yes, neighboring countries like Tristan de Cunha can be used, maybe towns too small to have any gyms. That'd mean we'd need a special port town (or several) to lead to those islands, and Dosuo could be the main island... it could be like the Orange Achipalego!

How bout we make the E4 based on our names? I'm not sure what 4 but it could be a good way to throw in our names because in Pokemon they usually have a Game Freak building where you can battle the creators of the game. We could also have a different eight gym leader in each version, like in B/W it's Iris and Draydon.

That's the point. It's an island off Africa, and Dosuo is based off Africa.

Thank you!
If we, as a group, decide to use my ideas (which currently seems unlikely) there will be a big variety of pokemon and places.
My main problem with the region being African based is that it will get boring. Most of Africa is the same- desert and savannah. In a pokemon game, deserts are usually just for part of the reigon (plus, I hate desert areas Dx). And there are only so many African animals that are original and do not have a pokemon counterpart yet.
I personally feel my idea is better (and more creative) because all the other pokemon regions have been based off of just one city or place. My idea would have much more variety of fakemon, trainers, towns and landmarks. I also have a list of fakemon one would find in each town and route, including my own, some new ones and many of the ones mentioned previously on this thread.
I think we should take a group vote: should we use my new concept or the old African concept (if I understand correctly)?
I, obviously, vote for my own. By the way, I am sorry I am putting this idea out here so late and short-of-notice.

Ho ho, don't underestimate Africa. Only the north is a great dusty desert but there are jungles, temperate forests, rivers and caves full of treasure. The continent itself is a treasure trove of climates. One of my posts talked about the diversity of the climates... I think around page 6-8

Yes, Africa is diverse.
I think it's time I pitch another fakemon idea. Just wait a few minutes.

AH, here's the post:
It's one of the most diverse continents in terms of climates, having a VERY small polar region (Kilimanjaro's snowy cap), a desert, forests, plains, a canyon (not technically a climate but The Great Rift is pretty awesome), temperate climates and of course, the great wide ocean.
That, and considering that Africa is famous for being on the Equator, also that cyclones twist according to which side of the Equator they're on (you can see where this is headed), they go haywire on the Equator, making the middle of Dosuo a great place for the great lightning dragon to be.
It has a lot of wildlife, making it a great place to inspire Fakemon ideas.
It's awesome.

Ok, heres my idea. (this took a lot of writing and researching)
Novpundia: The Young Toy Pokemon (Electric/Steel): Novpundia is a wind up toy pokemon. It's name has novus, latin for young, and cerpundia, latin for toy. It poses as kids toys to get a home, and then it evolves when it's been used a lot (meaning used in many battles), revealing itself to it's owners, who most of the time proudly use it in battle.
Instrupundia: The Trained Toy Pokemon (electric/steel): Instru comes from instructus, meaning trained in latin. Instrupundia is essentially a larger version of Novpundia, except it has developed hands for combat.
Tekipundia: The Deadly Toy Pokemon (electric/steel): Teki comes from Chimei-teki na, japanese for deadly. Tekipundia evolves from Instrupundia at level 50, and has larger hands, a bigger wind up, and a second wind up thing, to function as a razor sharp tail.
btw, Novpundia is hunted a lot to use as actual toys, and are killed, thats why they pose as toys to get homes. And the entire line's signature move is Wind Up, which wind's them up and restores some HP.

I think saying Africa has a 'polar' region is a stretch. Everything else is desert, savannah or jungle/rainforest. Of course you can throw the ocean in there, every region has sea life.
I still stand by my statement that it will get boring fast.
Keep in mind we need to pull a pokedex of 100+ from Africa.
That will be hard.
Lets see:
Elephants, rhinos, and hippos have all been done in pokemon.
There are tons of monkey pokemon already.
Hedgehogs, otters and moles have been done.
Giraffes, zebras, camels and buffalo have been done.
Lets see about sea life: Sharks, crabs, sea turtles, octopi, dugongs, and whales have been done. I guess we could throw in some more generic tropical fish.
We could still do:
-Gazelles
-Antelope
-Lemur
-Cheetah
-Lion
-Hyena
-Aardvark
-Bat
-Ostrich
-I guess we could squeeze yet another turtle into the pokemon world...
I don't want to start an argument or anything. I'm just stating my opinion.
On a side note, if we do want to focus on just one continent/place, I'd think Australia is a better candidate.

Now how is that going to fit with the African Animals theme? Hm?
If we did my worldwide theme, we could put that in Euland in a German or Swiss themed area.
On a different note, I dislike the names. They just don't roll off of the tongue, and the second one is definitely too long.

OK... I will do my best to include your original ideas in them, like I always used to do... here goes the one for Novpundia:
It is a metallic gray robot, fairly small and has a yellow, but fixed wind up key at the back. It has straight gray arms that don't bend, and they act as sleeves as a brighter yellow hand comes out of each arm. They have a cylindrical bright red belt and their legs are the same color as their body. These don't bend either but end in a tringular prism-shaped foot, a little like Porygon's... er... feet? which is the same colour as the belt. Their chest has buttons on them with a screen showing a cascade of colours like green, blue, purple etc. the torso being a cuboid. Their head is a small cuboid, roughly the same width but considerably shorter in height with a transparent hemisphere on its head with a light bulb that turns on and off and becomes dimmer and brighter according to its mood. and its eyes are dark grey with a small black pupil. The dark grey around it lights up when the bulb does.
That good enough?
That wall of text felt good. I missed doing that.

Alright, it seems nobody wants to do the vote I suggested, so I am interpreting that as 'we don't want to use your ideas, wiimaster'.
So I guess I'll go ahead and design some African fakemon.
That makes most of the fakemon I designed in that project a while back kinda pointless (many are not African).
Here are some ideas off of the top of my head:
Torbox (Box Turtle) Its a turtle with a cube for a shell! Get it? Its a pun...
Torubix (Box Turtle) Evo of ^
Kitut (Egyptian Cat) Its a mummy kitty :3
Obeline (Egyptian Cat) Evo of ^
Hyeha (Hyena) Its like this laughing hyena thing..
Hahyena (Hyena) Evo of ^
Fruibat (Fruit Bat) A bat... literally made of FRUIT
Pteropic (Fruit Bat) Evo of ^
Baoby (Baobab Tree) A Baobab Treant 8D
Baobrawn (Baobab Tree) Evo of ^
Threshark (Thresher Shark)
Lemyre (Lemur) A fire-type lemur.
Ringlare (Lemur) Evo of ^
Jellish (Jellyfish) A blue and purple jellyfish guy.
Brellafish (Jellyfish) Evo of ^
That's all I got for now.

can one of you programmers fix the prototype map's tooltips please? that way every one will what things are.
EDIT:also, to re-show one of my ideas I put in the map, here;
I wrote:
an optional semi-legendary septuplet. It would be 6 places around the land, caves kind of like gyms, and in the center, lies one of six semi-legendary... ... totem poles?
yes, each of them would be a piece of a totem pole, and would be one of these 6 types: fire, water, rock/grass, flying, electric, and dark/psychic (one or the other)each of the would have a matching maze/puzzle in their one room( I think they might be lv.40), and when you bring them all in your party to one last place, they would combine into a last, normal type, complete totem pole pokemon. it might have the moveset: water gun, flamethrower, thunderbolt, vine whip, air cutter, psychic, and switch. How can it have seven move you say? Well, i'll tell you. The secret is it's signature move, switch. it will switch it's moveset between the first three and second three, and switch will stay. the catch? it takes an entire turn.Their names would be tote+something related to their type (ex: electric could be totespark, fire might be toteburn) . My idea for the septuplet master name would be(prepare for bad pun overload) Tote-all. Get it?

I am just here reading all these posts, this shouldn't be hard to program, the only thing is that if I am not mistaken, it won't fit into 10MB trust me, we can't compress images because then it will all look like garbage. So best this is we do what we need to, upload it to a file server and put a link in the Project Notes. Programming again won't be hard, the only thing is that we need the graphics uploaded and maybe a gallery that we can organize all of the projects so we know what it what and what goes where.

We said earlier, we would come across that problem but I remembered a Pokemon game made by someone called Game Freak who had two parts to the game, with a code at the end like 248uefh832h. Depending on each Pokemon, they would have codes generated to suit them. I asked popopobob about this, and he said that it was all possible. If there are any issues with that, then tell us.
On to the Fakemon, we need a clumper of all the designs. Who's good at that?
