Hi, for some reason I can't drag the blocks from the tool bar on to the scripts page.
When I left click-hold, and then try dragging it, it moves for a little bit, and then resets back to its original position. Also, the block toggles, as if I've done a leftclick-release.
For example, I left click-hold on "move 10 steps" and start dragging it to the right. It moves about 3 mm, and then resets back to original position. Also, the scratch icon moves 10 steps. Meanwhile, I haven't released the left mouse button yet.
I am using Mac OSX 10.5.8. Also, I don't have this problem with drag-clicking anything on my desktop. Also, same problem whether I use the mouse, or the button on the touchpad, so I believe this rules out the mouse.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a fix?
Thank you.

Hi Wes64test,
Thank you so much for responding.
Upon your suggestion, I did try removing and then reinstalling Scratch. Unfortunately, that did not seem to work. I'm still seeing the same exact problem.
Any other suggestions? My daughter and I are very excited to try Scratch. We're both frustrated that we can't get past step 1 of the getting started guide.
Thank you,
Doglover

It is very unusual... let me think of a workaround...
Try clicking and holding a block until the right click menu comes up. Press duplicate. Then move the duplicated block to the scripts area. It doesn't fix the problem but you should be able to get a block this way.

I know you're using a Mac, but try using a Windows with the same mouse if possible. If it still doesn't work, it's your mouse. Else, it's just your Mac.

hmmm, did you use the same installer both times? it could be a corrupt installer so maybe try downloading an older version and see if they work. also I know nothing about macs but you may have used the windows installer, so make sure you use the mac installer.

There is no installer for mac, you literally just get the application and the rest of the folder because mac applications are bundled and all the recourses are inside. You can't use the windows installer on a mac or the win files only, because they're both .exe s and that won't run unless you go through wine or something. It could be just a mountain lion problem - its fairly new still and may still have some bugs - although I hear its a lot better that lion
. Maybe once there's an update to OSX that will fix it?
