Scratch Squad Projects Official Discussion Thread

Seen as I'm 'The Brain' guy, I should be the editor of this thread seen as I need to have the most control over ideas, otherwise I'd have my head chopped off if bad ideas slipped through.

This thread is to discus what projects we want to make. Every-time someone wants to add an idea, it is put onto the front, if an idea needs changing then an edited version will be shown.

Once we have the game plan sorted, this is used to keep a track on how the project is going. All I think we should have on this thread is project discussion, and any other matters should be discussed on a separate thread made by either TheDirector or whoever is most appropriate to handle it.

What if you have to control one paddle at the top of the screen and one at the bottom?

Nah, I don't think that'll work too well.

Okay, what about...

So, here's my Chicken Chow Mein idea!

Introduction wrote:

An old book is slowly zoomed into during the music introduction. Then, the first page turns at approx. 8 seconds
There was once a young knight, noble and brave.
Who fell in love with the Princess of Galotchy.
But a dark and monstrous knave,
Planned to kidnap the poor Princess of Galotchy.

She was sent to hide in the pits of the east,
Where she'd be looked after the Balukai tribe.
But when the knight finally defeated the beast,
He returned to pick up his future bride...
Who had died.

The whole tribe were drunk and dancing,
To his cries, they just laughed.
With no answer, he took out his sword, slicing and dicing...
Until everyone of them had dropped dead.

The camera slowly zooms out of the book.

Teacher (Background voice)-
Well, no one knows where he is now.

Next, the camera pans to a young child at a desk of a large classroom-orientated, traditional medieval church.

Child-
But sir, if the story is so old then wouldn't he be dead right now?

Teacher-
Hmmm, you see; many believe that he was cursed by the Gods and turned into a frog.

Some of the kids laugh in the background. Teacher-

And that he's forced to live an endless life with vulnerable human emotions trapped within his slimy body. Now it's not funny, imagine if you was once a respected hero, who had had spent many months searching for a monster, then you sleighed it whilst the tribe you trusted had been careless with the woman you loved.

Enter Head Teacher. The Head Teacher is a vicious character, with dark red eyes and a cape-like uniform on. The camera starts from the feet and lifts upwards.

Head Teacher-
Georgy!

Teacher-
Yes.

Quieter giggles in the background. Head Teacher-
What have I told you about telling that story to the children. We don't want them looking for this vile person who slaughtered and killed innocent lives now do we?

Teacher-
No!

Head Teacher-
Good! Now children, don't go looking for this villainous creature. He could be dangerous and I wouldn't want anything to happen to you lot.

His eyes widen, then he makes a quick escape.

Child-
How could a frog be dangerous?

Teacher-
It could be, if it's no longer a frog...[/i]

The screen blacks out.

Game Plot wrote:

So, the frog is transformed by the Head Teacher (who's mind is controlled by the frog using a spell, remember that the frog still thinks like a human and can still master non-speaking spells) into a half-frog/half-human form who goes to a spell book shop to try and steal one. He fails, and after trying to snatch it off the shop keeper he rips off one page and runs off.

That page has a spell to turn chickens into monsters. However, almost every chicken is being eaten so he plans to destroy the sacred copies of each chicken recipe (which are locked in temples) so that they will be forgotten. If chicken tastes horrible, no one will eat them and he can make his army.

So, you have to go around fighting monsters which will turn into chickens (you do not literally fight chickens, they only turn to chickens after 'defeating' them, it replaces any blood and gore) and enter temples to collect the recipes across a huge world, larger than the one in Spectrum.
