Maybe this is just me, but I like that my one real project has a lot of views because then when my friends/enemies/frenemies say, "Why you spend time on dis, nobody views it?!" I can say, "Yeah, Nobody and 512 other people..." :3
But it's more fun working to make a good project than it is just getting viewed for it. ^^

You know, Scratch isn't about fame. It's about giving people experience before they move on to more advanced programming languages. Sure, it's always good to be famous, but if you only join to become famous, you're not gonna get very far.
But anyway, you also need to be really active in the forums as well. That's probably the only way I got... Semi-famous, because if you post 70+ times a day, people are bound to click your username more.I got to be semi-famous by being curated two curators in a row . and I was never active on the forums until... A month ago?
Exactly the same as me, but I started forum-ing a few months ago.

Yeah, but there are some exceptions.
if new scratchers got fame, they probably didnt deserve it.
Probably, but sometimes it is a returning user that has been Scratching for a long time.

CylonToast, please stop being rude with your numerous accounts. You have at least three.
Hello, sir, I'd like to inform you that the user named CylonToast has absolutely nothing to do with any of the other toasts like ButterToast and BetterToast and that the resemblance is completely coincidental. The B-Toasts are all a joke invented by a few friends of mine. However, don't associate the accounts BilliousToast, BrownToast, BeautifulToast, BoredToast, or GhostOfButterToast with me or my previously mentioned friends for they are all a differet person entirely.

I agree with RedRocker, and yeah I supose fame does kinda give you a goal in Scratch, so there's a kind of balanced argument there.

Where do I live? Muffin Land of course...That's actually a very good point, and one which I hadn't thought about before. I suppose you're right, it does give users a goal to work towards. It's still not good to be obsessed with becoming famous though.
People who become obsessed with being famous don't become famous. You can quote me on that.
Yes, I agree.

I'm not famous, or even close to being famous, but I don't mind.
IMO: Everyone has the potential to be famous, but it's those work at it who truely succeed. People with bad projects on the front-page shouldn't bask in the glory to long, because they didn't earn it.
Personally, I believe if you enjoy scratch, than don't worry about being famous and instead strive make projects that you think are your new personal best.

(1) make 2 logins
(2) using your old login make as meny progects as you can (make sure there all awsome)
(3) using your new login look in the scratch page and wait intill one of your progects shows up in newest progets if you give up MAKE MORE PROGECTS

step 1: First you have to get out of the unknown zone, do it by making some scratch friends ,add your projects to lots of galleries and just make something that looks interesting but make sure no-one has taken that idea.
step 2: Secondly before you make a game or a series, make a contest so you could give the oppertunity for other scratchers to get in your projects.
step 3: Thirdly only try and get fame if you think you deserve it,because I get really annoyed when loads of terrible projects get on the front page like someone pretends to make a good project and then tricks people and overall, A few awesome projects is always better than a google pointless projects, it's a waste of time on scratch and in the real world.
step 4: Fourthly be nice and follow the community guidlines, you won't get fame if you are horrible
final step: Don't expect fame straightaway, you will get fame gradually, only a few scratchers have got it straightaway like fulldroid etc, but I don't reccomend taking a big leap, try getting it within like a year or so, it's reasonable and deserving, and most of the time, if new scratchers got fame, they probably didnt deserve it.
I HATE WHEN PEOPLE FREIND A WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE AND GET VEIWS I HATE IT YA IM TALKIN TO YOU KAWII PRINCESS

not quoting above, but I agree.
And I consider myself famous. Even though I don't always get on the front page, I make better games than the ones that are in the top viewed and such. And I'm known on the forums.

Im sry, but almost every step on there bugs me. First of all, the first step doesnt tell people not to add projects to galleries with no relevance to it, the second one is okay, the third says : I get really annoyed when loads of terrible projects get on the front page like someone pretends to make a good project and then tricks people and overall. This annoyed me like crazy. Most of the projects on the front page have talent, and the ones that arent "Perfect" Are made by people who are trying hard but could do better. I think they arent people 'tricking others " Its people trying hard but they arent as good as the others. I think they deserve to get front page if they worked hard. the fourth, alot of rude people do get famous, but not in a good way, but sometimes they do get famous in a good way. Fifth is good. But the over all topic is unreasonable. Most people who become famous have no intention to, just to make a good project.
