Edit: I think I have a concept now. Named "Neanderthalis." The species Homo Neanderthalis was one of the first found examples of pre Homo Sapiens humans. Maybe something in the earlier days of humanity?

True, true. My concept now is a platformer of Homo Neanderthalis in which your character must do many things to survive, ie make fire, hunt, make shelter, etc. and once a certain level of experience is reached (assuming you are not eaten by bears or starve) you win and become Homo Sapiens.

One hour in and I have a concept and a semi-functional menu. Is that good for this point?

Okay, I'm now redesigning my menu to a cave art style. My old style was just bad if not nonexistent, and I really like the new aesthetic considering my plotline.

I'm starting to feel like some higher power doesn't want me participate in Ludum Dare.  The flash drive that I keep all my Ludum Dare files on won't load onto my Mac now!

No, really. A reporter from Engadget at CES last year couldn't get a 4G USB adapter to work on his MacBook in OS X, but it worked in Ubuntu  tongue

Now I have item switching completed. I really didn't work at all yesterday, so I'll be grinding today.
