I think it could use one of those time bars like videos have. Also it needs some type of private thing where you can make some projects private to you and certain Scratchers only. Then you could share private info online with nobody else finding out where you live. Also, i would like to see it where you have the option to get messages from forums when someone quotes you, that way you can make sure that they didn't change your quote and so you can respond if they want you to respond. I got [name removed by moderator] angry because I wouldn't respond to her post because I didn't even know that she wanted me to respond. I forgot all about the post and the topic until I suddenly remembered. Also, I admit, once I quoted someone and changed what they said when I was not using forums as much. I made it so it benefited me, but it was appropriate so it couldn't get reported. Also, there should be a flag because of religion option. I know I see religious projects and I feel that my religion has been insulted. Also, we should be able to edit our comments, just like we can edit our posts in the forums. Also, there needs to be a way to see our forums only, just like we can see all our projects in one place.

1. ?
2. Possibly. Much more possible than private messaging, but there it is a chance that it would go against the share bit of Scratch
3. Support. Also on a topic that you made
4. Just regularly report it if it is that bad.

I mean like on youtube, the videos tell you how long they take. Have that option when viewing it. Also, Share means Share it with the website, not necessarily other Scratchers. Also I don't get what you mean by support. It's a suggestion, it's not actually on the Scratch website. Also, I flagged and reported religious comments, and the Scratch Team said it wasn't even closest to being inappropriate.

ok. No, scratch will not make privacy settings because Scratch is like a cake and you have to share the cake.
(Scratch wants people to learn from other projects)
lol i have no idea about "Scratch should bave the time bar like that videos have" ????
I meant to say share a project with only a few Scratchers. I saw that one Scratcher knew nothing about a certain Scratcher (phone or email), but their Scratch account, but can't do much because there are not all nice people, but some bad people that may stalk you if they know where you live.

I support the idea of private projects, say you're testing something for online speed and you don't need to clutter up the newest projects bar, so you just set it to not appear. Since no one else needs to see it

I really was just saying that for friends who you don't know their phone number or email and have no other way of communicating than Scratch.

Thanks for your suggestions! We prefer if you make a separate post for each suggestion though, so it doesn't get too confused. And it's a good idea to use the Search button to see if there is already a topic with that suggestion that you can add to.
Suggestion 1 - Youtube style run bar. We can't tell how long a project will run since many of them depend on how long the user plays it. Games don't run the same length all the time. You could maybe do something like you suggest for non-interactive projects, like animated videos - but I don't think that is likely since that is only one type of project and Scratch needs to work for all types. One thing I would like to see "borrowed" from Youtube is the Pause button though. That would be very useful at times.
Suggestion 2 - Private projects. You have that now...just don't share it to the website.
Suggestion 3 - Messages when you are quoted. That would be really cool! Or, at least, a message when a topic that you have posted on gets a new post. We used to have that capability - but it wasn't working well and it was putting a big load on the server so it was turned off. I'd like to see it fixed though.
Suggestion 4. - Religious project flag. Anytime you see any project that you feel is insulting to you, or is otherwise inappropriate, please use the Flag as Inappropriate button. Insulting others on Scratch is inappropriate behavior and we would like to be made aware of projects that you find insulting - Flagging it does that for us. However, please remember that religious projects are allowed on Scratch as long as they are respectful (they aren't putting down people for having a different religion or no religion).
Suggestion 5 - Edit your own comments. We thought about that - but decided it was too hard to moderate. Somebody could say something mean to somebody else - then switch it to something else before the moderators got there. It would be very confusing.

but projects dont run the same online as they do when offline. sometimes its necessary to test a project using flash's turbo mode which would be impossible to do without sharing it.

I meant for the animation projects.

People can do that in forums, anyway. Why would it matter? Just make it so if it gets flagged, it can't be edited, or make it so it doesn't send a message until it is reviewed and possibly removed.

I looked and nothing came up for any other topics mentioning the same or about the same suggestions.

I didn't mean they directly said if your not this religion, you suck. I was saying they put a religious project and I search for my religion and can't find it anywhere and feel put down and discouraged, like Scratch doesn't even believe in my religion, that I don't belong here.

If you can't find a project about your own religion, maybe someone hasn't created one yet. Why not take the initiative to create a project about the religion you are searching for and have it properly tagged so other can look it up when searching for it?

But Scratch 2.0 is online with flash player, which should all be the same, right?

Shift click hold the version number in the flash player, while holding down the mouse, hover over the dropdown, release, select the file you want to temporarily upload, and you're done.

There's no turbo mode offline. Also I can't contact friends with personal info other than Scratch.

It's still online and public, though.

Edit --> Set Single Stepping --> Turbo Speed.
You can still communicate through the forums, or something like Skype.

I have Scratch 1.4 and I may not download Scratch 2.0.

What if we don't have Skype and forums are public. You can even ask berberberber about that because they stressed that out over Scratch.

You don't need to download 2.0, it's online, and it hasn't been released yet.

1. This would be really hard to do, because project lengths could vary each time you watch it, like if you used this script:
when gf clicked wait (pick random (3) to (7)) secs say [hi] for (pick random (1) to (2.5)) secs repeat (pick random (2) to (5)) say [you get the idea] for (2) secs switch to costume [jdfkgj v]2. Never gonna happen.
