To make Scratch games playable on mobile devices (especially since Flash is dead), isn't it time to switch to an HTML5 based player? And as a bonus wish item, I wish for the player to have a save button that saves to the cloud for those with Scratch accounts or at the very least export to a text file and have an import save option.

Most mobile devices do not support WebSocketx, so cloud saving could be hard.

And why is Flash dead? YouTube uses it, Newsgrounds uses it...
Apple are in some sort of squabble with Macromedia. That doesn't mean it's automatically dead. :\

+1 I prefer Flash over HTML5. It's too slow.

+∞: Flash is not dead. HTML5 is. Everyone uses Flash, nobody uses HTML5

@above posters: Flash is dead for mobile devices. Adobe is no longer supporting it, so HTML5 is the only option for them. Also, a lot of sites are beginning to use HTML5 now (like YouTube) and it's usually much faster than Flash (take sb2.js vs. Flash player)
@OP: There's already a plan for an HTML5 player after 2.0 comes out. Alternately one could use the Scratcher-made sb2.js or JsScratch to play Scratch projects with Javascript. The saving could be programmed in with cloud lists, which would be possible via an official JS player.

Do you have a link to this sb2.js or JsScratch things? Are they usable on mobile devices? (I'm want to play my games on the Nexus 7 running Android 4.1 which doesn't support Flash).
sb2.js: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12239448/js%20project%20reader/index.htm
I have it bookmarked >:D

If you're using Android, why not just use the Java player?
