I just thought, since the 'Pop' sound is in the stage upon opening Scratch, a lot of users who only make very simple projects, may not remove it or even know it's there. I know it's a small file size, but since about 1400 projects are uploaded every day, and most of them won't remove that sound, that mounts up to a lot of server space.
What do you think?

I remove it most of the time, and so would anyone other experienced scratcher who needed more file space, but the pop and meow sounds are good for new scratchers to see what the sound blocks are used for

That's why we should keep the meow sound. (Also it's in the default sprite, which Scratchers are more likely to delete)

I kept the meow sound on some occasions though (I fail), until a few days ago in which I found that it saves ~47KB of memory.

I think when you load a new project it should be entirely blank. Its just a hassle to delete all that. I know its probably to support new users, but there should at least be an option to turn it off.

Maybe just the scratch cat should be there, with meow.

Or, you can simply not upload any unused sounds? Maybe with a setting for it, defaulted to "no upload"?
