im wondering what grade you're in, or approximate? because that will help me give some reccomendations

oh uh The Wild Things was a really good book
you might like, but it might be too creepy

Harry Potter (The first three aren't particularly "creepy" or intense though I suppose if you find shapeshifting humans creepy you might as well avoid these)

And I'm guessing he's fairly young, considering Animorphs scares him.

I remember reading Animorphs and being so scared of snails for years    What kind of books do you like? And is it ok if they swear in them? I do a lot of reading so I'll try my best to help

I like books with animals. I also prefer if they are chapter books. But, I'm in 4th grade and read at 6th, 7th, or 8th grade level, so also some stuff above my grade level would work.

I think you'd like Roald Dahl's books. They're really funny. There's one called The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me which has animals in it, but the rest don't really have animals in them. I think you also might like Geronimo Stilton and the Freddy Saga.

I recommend you go to your local library and look for them there before you buy any of them.

Actually what I mean by "creepy" about the books is that there are aliens. Aliens? They're kinda creepy!

Eh, I would say if you get scared by aliens you aren't on a Middle School level.

Reading level is not the same as maturity level (And no I don't mean maturity as in poop jokes). It means he or she is able to read at a middle school level, but finds things like aliens creepy. All that means is that he's a fourth grader and likes fourth-grader type books but has a better vocabulary than most fourth-graders, which lets him read slightly higher-level books.

Charolette's Web itself is a good book. Try Stuart Little, or, albeit slightly gory and scary, the Redwall series.
