Well, anyway, I thoguht of this idea a while ago.
You are a star, the spirit of happiness. One day, you wake up in a dungeon, with no memories at all except that your name is Starling (It's a she) and you have to keep back the spirit of dispair. (No name yet.) You find your way out of the dungeon, and then find yourself in a high-tech building. You go through the streets, the forest, the lake, the plains, the mountain, a storm cloud, and eventually get to the spirit realm. Then you fight dispair and win, getting all your memories back.
After each world, you fight a boss.
You control yourself in a 2-D manner, with this: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/berberberber/2730021

Yeah. The are cute, though. They could be in the forest or by the lake, perhaps?

No, they are line rabbits or birds, in the game, I guess. They don't really do anything, just there for decoration.

Okay. But we should probably get permission from humhumgames before we use them.

Oops. Didn't see that post. :P
Hmm.
A few random thoughts about the idea:
-The character is named after a little bird?
-Memories of what?
-Traveling through those places would be pretty boring, unless of course, there were smaller enemies along the way.
-I think it'd be interesting if the spirits took on a form that corresponded with what they represent. Like, the spirit of despair could be represented as a wolf or snake.

You can break boxes while shooting, too.
Also, I think the game should be called shooting star.
