text editor instead of drag-and-drop blocks

I understand that this suggestion might cause a bit fuss.

It would be much more convinient for advanced scratchers to code using text-editor with text based blocks, instead of drag and drop.

It can be as an 'add-on' or advanced mode. I don't suggest to drop the traditional drag-n-drop blocks.

I think most of the parser for this editor is almost ready here at the forum code with.

Maybe a 'switch mode' operation between graphic-blocks and text-blocks.

Costas

Re: text editor instead of drag-and-drop blocks

i think this suggestion has been declined before, however i understand that there are people working on a mod called "M30W" or something which turns scratch into a coding language

Re: text editor instead of drag-and-drop blocks

It would be easier for advanced scratchers, but scratch is also a programming language for little kids, so I don't think it is a good idea. but maybe as a "extra" which you could download or something...

Scratch is a coding language.  tongue  It's just object-based, not text-based.
