Yup. And people who couldn't care less whether they're famous or not do become famous. It's a strange world we live in, eh?
Yes, I guess thats true cause those types of people make useless things that aren't worth one second of looking at it, or they copy (some call it remixing) famous peoples projects and expect them to become famous. But otherwise I think the best famous people are the ones who make good games or OSs or funny animations.

I agree with RedRocker, and yeah I supose fame does kinda give you a goal in Scratch, so there's a kind of balanced argument there.

If you make people take their socks off, you will not be any more famous. Right? What does that have to do with scratch?

How to get famous
1. steal audio from a TV show
2. animate it
3. call your own creation "epic" or "awesome"
4. ask for love-its
ta-da!
EDIT: animating it is moderately difficult without prior experience, but still

ok, to fit the text-wall mood people have been in recently and so it doesn't look like I'm just here to make a bunch of short sarcastic posts i'll give my honest opinion on this matter!!
You know, Scratch isn't about fame. It's about giving people experience before they move on to more advanced programming languages. Sure, it's always good to be famous, but if you only join to become famous, you're not gonna get very far.
i do agree to this to a certain extent, though to be famous, you're probably gonna need programming experience, which you learn and will prepare you for more advanced programming languages
But anyway, you also need to be really active in the forums as well. That's probably the only way I got... Semi-famous, because if you post 70+ times a day, people are bound to click your username more.

anyway i think there are too many people who miss the point of Scratch and try to deliberately be famous. i have no problem with that as their attempts to attain fame may evolve into something much greater, but before they ever have a chance to evolve, you'll be stuck with stickmen exploding and 5-second animations to copyrighted audio clips.
my first project hit 1,000 views and 100+ love-its, mostly because of its title, i believe. a good thumbnail is also essential, just choose the best-looking picture of your project and make it the thumbnail.
there are a bunch of decent projects here, though even if it looks nice, if it calls itself "epic" or "awesome" in the title, usually i won't even bother viewing it.
i like being famous the fake way
i agree.
I have to agree. To tell you the truth, fame really only comes in your own eyes. If other people see you as famous, like people see Nicofreak and sydney(can't remember numbers) , then you're gonna see yourself as famous. The only problem with being famous is you will have a bunch of followers and very few REAL friends.
what's wrong with that? i think a lot of people want to be famous because they want their hard work (or just work) acknowledged, not to socialize and make friends. if anything it's a good thing because some of these "followers" might wanna be your friends but ddddddddddd
But If you really do wanna be famous, here's four good things to add into 3 or more of your projects:
1.explosions
2.animals(mainly cats)
3.stick figures
4.DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL
can't tell if this is what you meant, but explosions, animals and stick figures aren't original, they're overused things that once possessed humorous value that no longer do because they've been used way too much.
i remember when i made a video for something and all they could remember was "lulul der wur teh explOSIONS................ XD"
also anybody can draw stick figures
If your are just taking someone's front paged idea, then it won't get front-paged because people will get bored because they've already seen this project before. Let other projects TEACH you how to do funny stuff, not copying them.
Another thing. It's very hard to remember some scratcher's names because they have a lot of numbers tacked on to their names. I've had several instances where i have thought a scratcher's work was great, but i can't search for them because I can't remember the numbers.
And one last thing: PARTICIPATE. the best way to get famous is to participate in art trades, requests, coloring contests, etc. If you do that, more people are likely to click on your projects if they are thinking, "oh, this famous person likes this scratcher's art, so it MUST be good," and then they click on it. also when you're going to enter a coloring contest, etc, make sure you have a good THUMBNAIL. People are more likely to look at something that says "art and an announcement" than "An announcement". And if someone sees a bunch of words for a thumbnail, it'll look more boring, so people won't click on it, as to a thumbnail with great art on it, people will be more interested, and more likely to click on it.

actually both of them work.
of course the googol one works because it means a whole bunch of pointless projects.
and the google one works because most pointless projects contain info found on Google.

You know, I think most Scratchers want fame because of the feel. It's always good to find a new comment for us lowly Scratchers.
