No, that is why I want one I may be able to build it on my school's Hackintosh thoughYour school has a hackintosh? Sounds like a cool school.
You know you can install Snow Leopard on a VM now as well.My computer teacher is pretty epic. He isn't afraid to tell a student to shut up (he just says what everyone is thinking) and is a great help. The computer club (he is in charge) at our school has two custom desktops, one is broken, and the functioning one tri-boots Windows 7, HackOSX and Ubuntu. Of course I could just use someone else's Mac to compile (I just have to face it, it's a private school with some rich students, or at least rich parents), but it is much simpler to have my own so I don't take away their computer.
If it's not to hard, I can try myself.

@16skittles: Well, they have to keep the normal macbook pro for people who can't afford the >$2000 price tag on that machineOoh, yes, they can afford 1800 but 2000, oh my that is expensive. It is a Mac, for crying out loud, they aren't for people on a budget. Their statement "Everyone deserves a notebook this advanced. And now, everyone can." is a straight up lie. Not everyone can afford 1,000 dollars for a weak eleven inch notebook. If they are to be an "innovative" then they should innovate and the hipsters will buy it anyways.
Weak 11-inch notebook?
I've seen YouTube videos of the 11- inch MacBook Air, and it's pretty fast.
Just because it doesn't have a Core i7 doesn't mean it's bad.

The statement was more valid last year when 1000 dollars got 2GB RAM and 64GB SSD. Now it's 4GB RAM and still 64GB SSD.
Also i7 means fairly little, it has an i5. Integrated GPUs are fundamentally not powerful, and discrete GPUs can be found on cheaper notebooks than the Air without necessarily adding thickness (See ASUS U36SD)

I see no use for the CD slot besides to install Windows in Boot Camp. Some people may need it, but they still have external drives. If they can eliminate something that many people don't use to make it thinner and give it a bigger battery, that is a bonus IMO.

*facepalm*
The i7 is a processor, not a graphics card.

I know that!! They have an integrated GPU which is sucky compared to NVIDIA or AMD.
