Such as where in Odin's beard did the Misc. forums go? Could they have suffered a similar fate as the Forum Games did?
Pardon my ignorance, if this question has already been answered, but that was definitely one of the greatest things on this entire site. Plus, it's been at least a year or two since I've left.

misc was archived because it was too much of a hassle to moderate and replaced with the "reading and playing" and "making and creating" forums

I take it that it's been awhile.
The Misc forums were removed and sent to the archives some time ago. They've been replaced by the Making and Creating/Reading and Playing forums, which are generally considered the "new Misc", but with more specific guidelines to help keep out the spammy topics, like Twitter-style status updates and bothersome fads.

I understand the efforts to keep spam out, but does that mean that there's really no board to discuss misc. topics? Like, Making/Creating can be used for Minecraft and Spriting stuff, and Reading and Playing is for Books/Articles/Games, but I'm surprised that there isn't a "General Discussion" type thing.
On another note, does anyone have a link to the Forum Games Board, if it still exists?

Actually, the making and creating is for making things outside of scratch, so sprites wouldn't belong in that forum.

Well, yes, I wasn't talking about Scratch sprites. Pokemon splicing, other video game sprites, GIMP, etc. That's what I was trying to get at.

Its been split into text-based and role-playing games. I don't remember why it was split from the main forums, I think to stop the spam while still allowing fun or something like that.

I was still here when the split occurred, I believe that's why.

The problem with a board for general discussion is that we'd run into the same problems we did with Misc. As it is, we're generally pretty lenient with what topics we allow. (Just look at those to boards right now.) If you have a good discussion topic it'll probably be allowed.

It was because people were just using to gain posts.
At first you think it's a terrible idea and you'll never get used to no Misc. but after a while you prefer it.

Well, I guess the "post as many time in a row" games caused that
No Misc is better, but there are some topics that aren't really classified using te new system, such as Impossible Songs.

I would put that topic under Reading and Playing because all the other music topics go there (as it is media you are consuming) but that's just where I would.
