Album: Nimrod
Artist: Green Day
Released: 1997
Composers: Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt
Genre: Punk Rock, Alternative Rock
Released two years after 1995's Insomniac Nimrod really makes Green Day's change from a punk rock band to an alternative rock band. This album really has much more variety than it's previous efforts ranging from the obnoxious and explicit 'The Grouch' to the beautiful and emotional 'Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)' to the brass-accompanied 'King For A Day'. The album's diverse musical range makes it hard to rate as some Green Day fans may find it a bit too alternative compared to the loud and rocky Dookie that had made Green Day popular in the first place. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic album and even if you don't consider yourself a fan of noisy punk rock then maybe give this a try because most likely you'll find something you like.
