Exactly, but now they aren't. Big phones like the Samsung note are a step backwards. A really tiny phone wouldn't be very nice either, but neither is a huge one. We have tablets for that.

Google project glass > any phone to date.

That Google project has a lot of room for failure - it could set humans back and do us bad. However, it could also really enhance our lives.

How could it "set humans back"?

We fail one innovative glasses project doesn't seem equivalent to us losing ground in technology to the point of devancing.

Re: iPhone 5 Official Topic

The YouTube app in iOS 6 is being dropped.

(I'm not 100% positive)

That is a rumor, with Google pushing an app through the App Store.

This is not a rumor, this is true and shows on the iOS 6 Beta 4 as a permanent change. The current Yourube app is somewhat distasteful and something o replace it would be nice - but don't think that there won't be YouTube access, there will be for sure.  smile

Yeah, I think there need to be more features like quality selection and stuff. That's not an option probably because Apple doesn't want people to have "a bad experience with the device" but I am definitely having a bad experience with the device if I can't load the max quality video without buffering every five seconds.

Yes, I agree. The problem is with Apple's UI, not the YouTube app, which means it would be fairly easy for Appe to change their video UI object and it would change all players universally. If you notice that no matter where you play a video on iOS, Vimeo or YouTube or whatever, it'll always show up as Apple's UI player since that overrides everything else.

This kinda goes along with the whole mobile site thing - people are tempted to have a mobile site when really, the device should fit the website, the website shouldn't fit the device. Same goes for the video player, but for it, they kind of have to have a specialized player but it doesn't necessarily have to have limited features.

Re: iPhone 5 Official Topic

The real problem though, is that with the release of the original iPhone, Apple had a contract with Google so that ads were never sent onto the apps. Now, the contract is over and Google is free to broadcast ads over the millions and millions of iPhone users.

But now we have a choice as to wether we are willing to deal with the ads for the apps.

If Google chooses to add ads to their apps - since they won't be native anymore, we can choose whether we want to download them or not.

I've been reading up on the new iPhone that will arive in September and it sounds really nice. It will be thinner, have a larger screen, have 4G LTE networks provided, have a different dock connector, have a different front camera, and a different back to it.
Also, It will have iOS 6 along with the other devices.  smile

Yeah, I have read the same from different articles. Rumors have abounded about the release of the next-generation iPhone 5. Now there is evidence to believe that will happen in about a month.
