There is already a topic on the best characters, let's discuss the worst.
Probably jigglypuff, her down b is like doing absolutely nothing

If you get really close to someone and do it, it does INSANE knockback.

That's basically in melee, and you have to be in contact with the opponent to make it work, so its too hard for beginners

I HATE Olimar. He's just really bad. And the Pikmin things are kind of annoying.

Bowser. His moves are slow to startup, and if someone's used a timer on you, it's even slower. He can be kept off the stage anytime. His fire breath is useless and dies out fast. Then, when you start that again, it fizzles out. His down aerial, if anything, just makes you fall farther. Overall, Bowser has almost no strong points whatsoever.

Actually, if you can get his grenade-throwing move just right, you can KO the opponent in one or two hits.

I was just about to say that. His moves are just too slow to be effective.

R.O.B is my main.
Pokemon Trainer is the worst in my opinion.

I agree.
His grab-jump-slam (If with nunchucks, Left/Right - B?) is good. Even though you get K.O'ed, your opponent gets K.O'ed first. It's only really effective if you're playing with lives.

Pssssh. You just don't know how to use Jiggypuff.
My main guy is Mr. Game and Watch.
Ganon's pretty slow though.

I'd say jigglypuff too.

SHAME. Kidding, but I do like Jiggles. My main is kinda tentative right now, somewhere between Captain Falcon, Samus, Meta Knight (I DO NOT main him just because he's top-tier), Marth, Ike, and Ness.
I do not like Lucario. He does too much wall-clinging for me to handle.
