Scratch Bands is now the third interest story, and ScratchRank is buzz. So we are doing both.

Oh, ok!
Can I be reporter for both? I have the Scratch Bands report all done.

So, I will interview Scratchers about how they feel about Astro leaving, 'kay?

Okay. Will you type it up into an article, as well? Also, keep in mind that Spotlight is about a particular Scratcher and his/her achievements. So try not to only focus on his leaving, but also some of his projects and contributions.

I'll post it up again.

Wait, I just realized; we can't post forum topics on individual Scratchers. I will have to do another.

Buzz report for BANDS:
INTERVIEWS
technoguyx wrote:
What's your name?
Assuming you don't mean real names as that's not allowed in Scratch, technoguyx.
Which band do you belong to?
The first Scratch band, the one that pretty much started the trend, Frozen Coco.
What genre of music does your band make?
I'd call it pop rock.
What is your job in the band?
I'm currently the bassist, one of the two managers of the band, and I also take care of mixing some of our songs, and writing them at times. I get some singing parts as well, though I don't really consider myself a good vocalist.
Can you describe some of your experiences in the band?
You could consider me to be the founder of the band; I originally posted the topic seeking members in the Collaboration section of the Scratch forums. So far we have released two singles and an EP, "Crimson Love."
What is your best memory of the band?
Definitely when we released our first single, "My Voice to You" (written by Noteflight user Dennis Yang, not us). It took a while for everyone to record their parts and for me to mix them, but it was worth it in the end - it was curated and got about 700 views.
What is your worst memory of the band?
We have had lots of different vocalists, as we always seem to have a bit of trouble with them. I'd say every time a vocalist has leaved our band.
What are some of the challenges of being in a band?
The main problem of being an online band, rather than one that can get together in a certain place and jam out, is that our recordings have to be absolutely flawless, otherwise we'll have trouble when mixing. Therefore, it's not uncommon for each of us to record multiple takes, choosing only one in the end.

Which band do you belong to?
Quiet, Please
What genre of music does your band make?
Indie stuff
What is your job in the band?
Vox, uke, guitar, drums, and other instruments too, as well as songwriting
Can you describe some of your experiences in the band?
It's been fun working on our first song
What is your best memory of the band?
When backspace_ said okay when I said let's make a band
What is your worst memory of the band?
ummm nothing yet
What are some of the challenges of being in a band?
Definitely the online communication and getting an understanding of the feel.

What's your name?
Greetings. I go by many names, but most people settle to call me All4one.
Which band do you belong to?
I belong to the Walruses, a Beatles tribute band.
What genre of music does your band make?
That's sort of a tough one. We are a Beatles tribute band, and the Beatles have experimented with pretty much every single genre under the sun. I guess you could call us pop rock, art rock, beat, or simply Beatles tribute. xD
What is your job in the band?
I am manager and proud founder of the Walruses. I also went through this brief stint as a vocalist, but that didn't exactly work out too well.
Can you describe some of your experiences in the band?
We are still a relatively new band; we've been functioning for about two months, but we have yet to release a single, so we haven't had too much experiences to document yet. However, I still believe we've had a lot of things happening in the Walruses for a band that's been around for this short of a time.
I remember the first couple of people to sign up for the band were DIY (also of Frozen Coco), jji7skyline, and veggieman001. DIY has always been a close friend of mine, and he's a rather huge Beatles nut like me, so I was glad to have him on board as lead guitarist/pianist/vocalist.
Jji and I were good buddies in the past, too, having helped me in some collaborations such as "Gamer's Delight" and the failed "Scratchtunes" project. I knew he was a good collaborator (he even made a sticky in the Collaboration forums on how to make a successful collaboration ), and he had some great audition pieces, so I signed him up.
I knew Veggie was a very professional musician, having released four studio albums and a handful of EPs, not to mention he's very knowledgable about music and music history (we've even had our share of music debates in the past xD), so I was glad to have him on board. He signed up for drummer/vocalist and mixing engineer, but he eventually settled as just a mixer.
Shortly afterwards, veggie left the band due to some disagreements with some of the other band members, and DIY eventually took his place as mixer.
We then tried coming up with a band name, one that would make you think "Beatles" as soon as you read it. We all gave out our share of suggestions, and in the end, decided to go with the Walruses, a title I came up with after the Beatles song "I Am the Walrus". Pretty neat, eh?
Afterwards, we held a contest of sorts, to see who could create the best band logo for us. Quite a few people submitted their entries - some of them including people already in the Walruses. XD We decided to go with a design created by trinary, which was basically text saying "the Walruses" in a Beatles-y font. DIY tweaked it up a bit to make the letter "L" drop (so it would be reminiscent of the dropped "T" in the Beatles' logo), and the Walruses logo was born!
We had some difficulties finding a bassist and drummer for the band - we set up some topics specifically for finding those members but to no avail. Then, we made the move of advertising the Walruses in our sigs, and we suddenly had a boatload of people signing up.
Technoguyx, also of Frozen Coco, decided to pitch in and sign up as a bassist for us temporarily, so he could also focus on his work with the Coco. Meanwhile, we had a little bit of trouble finding a drummer. Necromaster signed up at first, but we soon found that he was already preoccupied with another collaboration, so we reluctantly had to let him go. About a week ago, we put wolvesstar97 on our roster, and she's been a very promising drummer so far!
Currently, we are working on releasing our first single, complete with both an A-side and a B-side, so it would be similar to the old records of the Beatles' time. We're planning "Here Comes the Sun" to be on the A-side and "Yesterday" to be on the B-side. We're pretty much almost finished with "Here Comes the Sun" (all we need is the vocals, which jji should be posting up pretty soon), and we've just started on "Yesterday", which we believe won't take that much time to record. The single should be out around August or September 2012, so be expecting something from the Walruses pretty soon.
Afterwards, we're planning on completing the entire Abbey Road medley, and possibly even the entire "Abbey Road" album, depending on how things go.
What is your best memory of the band?
Again, since we haven't been around for that long, we have yet to experience many memories, but the best memory for me so far was probably when I realized we had a full band - a rhythm guitarist, a lead guitarist, a bass guitarist, and a drummer. I knew then that we were one step closer to success.
What is your worst memory of the band?
We've definitely had a lot more positive things happen in this band as opposed to negative so far, but the worst things to happen so far were probably the exits of former band members Veggie and Necro. They were both very promising members, but I can't blame them for wanting to go their separate ways and focus on separate projects. I believe Veggie is forming his own band at the moment, called "Quiet, Please" with backspace_, and I seriously can't wait to see some material from them.
What are some of the challenges of being in a band?
As many other Scratch bands have stated, the toughest challenge of all is the fact that we're an online band, as opposed to a real live band who meet up for gigs. It's definitely more difficult to communicate amongst us band members, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. I believe that everyone on the Walruses team mesh together perfectly - we're a group that really understands each other and our points of views, and we're also a group that's all striving for one primary goal - to successfully bring the magic of the Beatles' music to Scratch. So far, I think we're doing that pretty well for an online band.

Since I've already done the advice column...
1. Can I be a reporter and writer for Chongyian's recent collabs and projects topic?
2. Can I be a writer for wolvesstar's projects?
3. Can we add a project review column in this or the next issue?

The War Has Begun
War. War is the word to express the actions going on in Scratch. As we recover from the departure of our fellow Astro, a War has sprouted. A war between KingFanta, Blu_Spy, and LordCocaCola has sprouted. It has gone viral and now Scratchers have taken sides in order to take each other out. Each candidate has created a project directed to another war candidate and they have reached out to us all to join them. KingFanta fell pray in the first battle but his army is quickly rising. Many Scratchers have dished out at each other on which side was better resulting in some feelings getting hurt. Paddle2See says that they think that it is just a fun role playing game between the 3 as for what they have seen. They will continue to monitor for any signs of distress or if it gets out of hand. Lightnin* has said that he honestly doesn't know much but from his knowledge, he believes that it is just a fun game but could get out of hand, but he supports the war for now. No members have ever seen a war like this before but for now, the Scratch Team remains on their toes and continue to monitor this. Although the war projects have been deleted, the battle still rages on! As of now, we don't know how or why the war has started and if it is for fun or real competition, but as of now, the War Has Begun!

1. For sure. I was worrying about that, actually.
2. Yup.
3. Probably the next one. This one is more just to get into the rhythm of things.

I'd say both. Sorry to barge in... and I'm a little late.
I'd also recommend writing about the Olympic design studio theme and the Welcoming Comitee thingy.
On a side note, wolvesstar, did you make your sig? If so, that's an amazing drawing!
