When I try to name a variable something such as %360 (which is what I discovered the problem on) or %2, the variable shows up as (☐60) (in the case of %360) or (☐) (in the case of %2). I have not created any blocks using the scratch source code. Does anybody know what this is?

WE don't know what it is, but this has been reported

Thanks! I think it might have been a thing the scratch team tried out before Scratch 1.3 came out, then forgot to completely remove...

I'm using 1.3. Should I upgrade?

Yeah, you should upgrade to 1.3.1. The problem is that Squeak (the underlying mechanism of Scratch) thinks that, as %3 is the code for some strange character, you're trying to write that character and then write 60. To the computer, it might as well be that you typed g60.

I got this glitch too!
Also, I made a similar thread, where you could post which blocks you had encountered through these glitches!
