Re: Name change

Lots of people just create a new account: It's a fresh start, and if you play your cards right, nobody knows it's you.

Don't support. It would cause a lot of database organization issues.

Re: Name change

I think a name change button would be a good addition, but the only downside would be if users continuously changed their respective usernames.

I have been on Scratch for about 4 years, but was hardly active at all in 2011 and created my current username, for a fresh start. I was going to change my old username, but found that I couldn't and have been going by "Mazdafreak" lately with other profiles of mine.

I am in complete support of a "Change Username" button, but it would have to be restricted so certain users wouldn't abuse it. Maybe a "one month rule" would work for newer Scratchers, then lessen the restrictions for proven users that won't abuse the system.

Re: Name change

It's a nice idea, but I don't support because of details mentioned by Bridbyte.

It actually wouldn't since everything's stored by user ID, not by username, so you'd just have to update one value in the database. Even so though, I don't support.

Too much confusion.  This probably won't happen.
