Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

Here ya go. Uploaded the vocal track, I hope it's all right. My mic really sucks, as I stated before.

@wii - That's great! However, I think we have the positions for guitarists filled at the moment. By any chance do you play drums?

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

No, I am afraid not. Sorry I am not of much use  tongue

I can arrange music though- meaning that when the time comes, I can give all the different parts to each different musician for All you need is love... I don't know how long it will be until you are ready to do that song, but since that it is what I am currently practicing, I can tell you literally every part that the song will need.

By the way, I can also play here comes the sun on piano: since that is the song you are currently doing, would you like me to try and get it recorded?

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

It turns out, my vocal track for HCtS won't be used due to my sloppy mic.  tongue  Oh well. xD

DIY says that wiimaster should go ahead with the orchestral part for "All You Need is Love" on keyboard, since we decided we'd probably want to do the song after the Abbey Road Medley is done and out of the way.

Well, here is the sig image for Here Comes the Sun. I really like it and I hope you do too  tongue
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss286/wiimaster1/d22107b8.gif
You can put in the first post for people to use.

I'm working on Yesterday, though I do not know what image to use. Here comes the sun was easy (a sun), but for Yesterday? I don't know. Ideas?

The sig is perfect!

I was imagining you would make a banner that would avertise both "Here Comes the Sun" and "Yesterday", with an image of the sun.

Well, I think it would be better if they were separate, so that the advertisers and band members would have move choice, plus they can be button-links to each song in the first post!

For yesterday, I could just do a sun too, but I think it should be more unique, like an arrow pointing backwards or something... maybe not  tongue

I can just imagine a strawberry for Strawberry Fields, a heart for All You Need is Love (and most of their love songs at that...) and more.

And the reason why I suggested that we conjoined "Here Comes the Sun" and "Yesterday" onto one banner is because they will be released on one single - "Here Comes the Sun" on the A-side and "Yesterday" on the B-side.  smile

Sure. Then we have all the tracks, but Yesterday still needs vocals.

Awesome. I believe DIY is going to be posting his vocal parts for "Yesterday" soon, I believe.

You said 'I believe' twice  tongue

And listening to your recording, it does seem to have very bad quality  hmm

I'll likely be recording HCtS vocals this evening.

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

Ok, here is yesterday:
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss286/wiimaster1/Yesterday2_zps18f7dc60.gif

I'm not sure if the giant blue arrow is good or not... it is really all I could think of, but I think it looks fine.

So, there is Here Comes the Sun and Yesterday as separate sigs, but then there is...
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss286/wiimaster1/Yesterday-sun2_zpscc2eab4f.gif
Conjoined!

What do you think? Be honest.

We're about to release our first single.  smile

@wiimaster: That seems pretty good, though the transparent box for the text on top of the arrow doesn't seem quite right.

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

Awesome sigs! I only have two notes - maybe you should list "Here Come the Sun" first, as it's the A-side of our single. Also, I would do something about that part in "Yesterday", where the text overlaps the arrow and makes a grey rectangle there - I think that's what jji meant.  smile

Overall, outstanding job!

Yea, that's what I meant... it doesn't seem quite square.

And I wasn't able to record yesterday, so you'll have to wait until this weekend.

I would list Here Comes the Sun first if it weren't for this slight problem: If I did, the arrow for yesterday would be pointing forward, which would change the meaning.  tongue
I'm still confused about yesterday: there is a grey rectangle, it looks the exact same as Here Comes the Sun to me.

Oh yeah, I just realized there's a grey rectangle, albeit a less noticeable one, on the "Here Comes the Sun" logo. I guess it's not that big of a deal, we'll keep the sig.  big_smile

I think we should put it in when the single is released.

Great.

By the way, I have finally perfect all you need is love, I'm going to record it with fruity loops when the time comes. I'm learning the guitar chords and strums and currently organizing the piece.
Question: Do we have active brass players? Violinists?

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

I can play violin, but it won't work for any quartet parts without a violist and cellist. I think going with MIDI files for them is the best way (keyboard).

Brass? There was someone who played the tuba.
