Say you have good grammar, won't make duplicate topics, frequently edit the wiki to help it expand, and that's about all.

And it goes without saying that you must write stuff that is actually true about yourself, not just because it's what's going to get you in

I mostly use proper grammar, so it's true.

You don't have to say too much really
Expressing interest towards helping the wiki is good. If you'd like, you can give examples of what you'd do or what past experiences you've had, though it's not necessary.
Generally if you have a keen interest in the wiki and you express that in your application, you should be fine ^^

Hm, that's interesting. I just said I wanted to make a few articles and tweak a few changes that I needed to make

I told them what I would do if I got an account, like fix grammar and wording.

Yeah I'd consider it not a case of 'what should I put in', but rather 'what shouldn't I put in' -- applications don't need to be outstanding to be approved, the whole application thing is mainly just so that users can't create accounts with others' names.
