Also, for the verse I thought that the strumming pattern S/G/S-S/G (S= Strum G= Ghost strum) might work better, because the lyrics I'm working on seem kind of off using the original strumming pattern.

I really love this; it fits the tune well and features some cool imagery and words.

I'm not great at figuring out strums from a written description, but would it sound something like this?

That is like the exact pattern the chorus is in actually :p

I'll try to maybe find a good pattern and explain it better, or record something to show you the pattern, because I can't really picture the pattern now either :0 (although if I was reading it with my guitar right next to me I could figure it out.)

okay! so I found another one that might be better but I need your take.
The two verse patterns are as follows (o=strum x=ghost strum)
Original- oo oo oo oo
New- o xx oo

The new one sounds sort of like claps when you play the ghosts (double downstroke) and I kind of like it, but I'm not sure which sounds better, or would go better with lyrics.

hmm, I know we really wouldn't need any more singers, and the synth stuff might be useful, but I don't know how useful. What is your knowledge on 90s alternative rock, indie rock, lo-fi, and experimental rock?

@veggie: I don't think we'll need a mixer really, if it's just us two then it can't be too hard. :S

Let's see, I'm familiar with the music of Oasis, Blur, They Might Be Giants, Radiohead, Kraftwerk, Snow Patrol (they were sort of lo-fi), R.E.M., Foster the People, early Coldplay (they were pretty indie in their earliest songs), and the sort.

EDIT - Also, if progressive rock counts as experimental rock, then I'm also very familiar with Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis, Alan Parsons Project, and a little bit of ELP (Emerson, Lake, and Palmer).

that's nice, (you have a great musical pallette!) but we don't really have too big of a use for a syntehsist/singer right now, sorry D:

Hey! Do you have a person who takes all the recordings and puts them together? If not, I'd like to be that person! I can do almost anything with the program I use for it.

Post up the rough drum tape when you're done with it, veggie, just so I can hear how you play it and stuff. I'll try to work up some lyrics for verses.

yeah, but it will have to be tomorrow, my recording device fizzled out on me whilst I was testing a covering of Dinosaur Jr.'s cover of The Cure's Just Like Heaven, and I need time to recharge it D:

Alright, cool. I haven't heard Dinosaur Jr.'s cover, just the original, but sounds like fun. 

It is, and you should really listen to it. It's far superior to The Cure's imho because of the wailing guitars and J. Mascis's odd yet good way of singing. (Expect that line track thing whenever I get my lazy * off the PC)

Ehh, it's alright, but I'm not really digging it that much.
