Re: I'm making web shooters!!! :D

Oh, well... I've stopped working on them.  tongue  For one thing, they probably wouldn't have shot more than 2 or 3 feet. Here's how I was making them: I put two screws through a toilet paper roll (which is the main base of the thing, which you put on your wrist), an inch apart. And then after making them very strong and not wobbly at all, I was going to put an elastic band between them, creating a mini sling-shot type device. That's the basic premise of how it fires, though I never actually put on the elastic band.

How did you make yours? I'll probably have another go at making them, but this time using the parts from a tiny Nerf Gun.

Re: I'm making web shooters!!! :D

I took an old, cheap watch and took out all the parts so that I just have the base. Then I went to a sewing machine and got a bobbin, which is basically a metal circle with thread in it. I put the thread through the hole where the knob on the watch was, then glued the very end of the thread back onto the knob. I cut a Q-Tip so I had a part slightly taller than the bobbin and glued that in the middle of the watch. I stuck the bobbin onto the Q-Tip then glued a little metal circle over the top of the Q-Tip so the bobbin wouldn't fall off. I stuck the knob (with the string still glued on it) in the hole so it has the appearance of a watch. Whenever I want to shoot some webs I hold the knob in my hand and throw it so the thread come out. Then you just turn the bobbin and the thread comes back up. I know it sounds confusing and it looks nothing like the one in the movie but I'm still improving it. I thought of attaching a spring over the knob hole and try and shoot that. If you have any ideas please let me know! smile
