Archmage can you please remove the part saying mesh is a new feature because the scratch team decided to remove that feature since it is hard to use for new members and is very limited. Mesh still has some potential for feature in future scratch versions.

If you want multiplayer right now then try chalkmarrow's snyff program. It functions in the same way that mesh in scratch 1.4 does. If you are not able to make programs with snyff then you probably won't be able to make multiplayer games in scratch 1.4.
do you mean that 1.4 has online multiplayer? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No you can't, but search a thread called "Remote Sensors" on Sensor Boards forum, then search Snyff over the Internet. Snyff connects two Scratch projects and enables to administrate them. You can go even further - learn Ruby (or any other language supporting sockets) and make your own apps using remote sensors (e.g. GoboNews, but this one is in Python).
I'm making Point&Click game now (there are early alphas available - click on 2nd banner in my signature).

I want to try multiplayer, but it seems complicated. What do you mean by new string features?
It means you can do more with sentences&words

This was answered a while ago.
Seeing as now, the Mesh feature has been disabled, my new goals are to fiddle with String features!
